wswnick Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 So what are we thinking for a starting 11 for this? Will Popa try and go strong or not risk key players that we will need for the ACL match? Based on preseason so far and who isn't injured I'd think maybe something like this: Mullen - Hamill - NTS - Golec Poljak - La Rocca Kubi - Saba - Bridge Haliti Though I could see Trifiro in place of La Rocca, and La Rocca playing CB instead of Hamill. Cole may also start over Mullen or maybe Bridge if not fit. Prydzopolis 1
mack Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 Covic Cole - La Rocca - NTS - Golec Poljak - Trifiro Troisi - Saba - Bridge Haliti Bench: Bouzanis, Perkatis, Lo, Kubi, Hamil In case Troisi doesn't sign Kubi on the park & bench: Bouzanis, Perkatis, Lo, Mullen, Hamil. Only difference I could see is Castelen making the bench. Prydzopolis and wswnick 2
Taurus Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Popa will only take fit players to ADL even if that means taking a risk on some younger squad members getting the job done. I don't think Golec will start. He appeared to be in pain last night when he took another knock on that troublesome left knee. I didn't get a chance to speak to him today. IMO Alessi, Sotorio, Fofanah, Pasalic (Triallist #24) & possibly Kuze (triallist #22) if he has been signed to the NYL squad, may be amongst the travelling squad. Castlelan won't play for a few weeks. Prydzopolis 1
Tilton Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Considering heading down for this mixed in with a work trip. Anyone have an idea as to how many will be in travelling support? Based on this post, one.Lol. Surely at least one more.... Somewhere... There's 4 of us going.
Prydzopolis Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Mullen - la rocca - NTS - Cole Trifiero - Poljak Kubi - Saba. - Bridge Juric - Santa to come on for bridge if he is injured, don't think the calf strain should keep him out of the side - Don't think our trialists have been listed on the squad list put into afc so can't play - Golec, seems to be an injury which can be managed otherwise something would have already been done - Mullen as RB because of the way he played during the acl campaign - la rocca to play CB because he has been playing this during the trial games - no Romeo due to not been included in the squad - NYL players and couple of other main squad who weren't included in the team to bench
Pablo Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 what a contrast to South Hobart website and live streaming of their FFA Cup game last week this is main website for Adelaide City http://www.adelaidecityfc.com.au/ somewhat out of date !!?
Wanderer74 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Lol they have their 60th anniversary badge from 9 years ago Pablo 1
matty Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Come on boys, a club like that is largely run by volunteers, not to be mocked imo. Especially if they knock us off :-o Prydzopolis 1

Taurus Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Provided Tomi comes through the all stars game on Sunday night, I can see no reason why he cannot travel to Adl with the squad on Tuesday & participate in the match. To prevent him or other players from playing for their club in FFA Cup games after completing their All Stars commitment, would be farcical. This is the squad I believe will take the pitch for us. Covic Mullen La Rock NTS Golec (under an Injury cloud) Perkatis/Trifiro, Poliak Appiah Saba Fofanah Haliti Reserves: (subject to availability) Bouzanis (gk), Perkatis/Trifiro, Hamill, Alessi, Sotirio, Juric Wanderboy and Prydzopolis 2
mack Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 The second half in Canberra might as well have been the "kick the ball to Sotirio and let him pretend to be Mark Bridge" half, maybe he'll play left wing instead of Fofanah.
Taurus Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Fofanah played a far bit of Left Mid on Friday, admittedly whilst Soririo was playing for the Young Socceroos. I can see Popa using either of them in that role. Alusine must be in the squad for his versatility. The big issue we have is left back. Golec is carrying a knee which continues to give him problems. He was limping noticeably after the trial game. Cole twisted an ankle on Friday & it was bad enough for the physios to get a moonboot out of storage. I didn't see Pasilic (triallist) at the game so our options at LB appear to be very light on. Prydzopolis 1
Pup55 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Can someone organise with Price Waterhouse Coopers to give Adam D'Apuzzo an RDO tomorrow so he can fill in at left back? rcfinc 1

How many times in the last 2 of the Wanderers season with popa as manager not played a 4-2-3-1?
Dyssius Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) ESFC and City just announced they are streaming their game. WSW, why is this not happening with our game as of yet? Edited August 11, 2014 by Dyssius
wswnick Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Sydney United game also being streamed Prydzopolis 1
Wanderer74 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 This is good. Shame there are 3 good games this week, even if we were to be able to stream all of them, it would be difficult to watch them.
Prydzopolis Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Are the steamed games on YouTube, recorded and means you can watch them afterwards? Or are they only available live?
wanderersfanatic Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Ffffffffffffarken!!!! Out of all games, ours won't be streamed! Prydzopolis and 102megan 2

Hughesy Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Don't expect us to be streaming games yet. They just had customised luggage delivered today and it was like they'd just invented the wheel it was so exciting haha logistically the club are still very much running behind. To be honest it's incredible how they do what they do given how little they have Tigers 1
Taurus Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Popa will suprise us and play 3 at the back using Perkatis as a Libero. Will be interesting as NTS & La Rock were paired together again for a good 60 mins on Friday. They may be our preferred CB pairing for the ACL clash next week. Hamill was paired with a youth squad CB in the last 3rd, so he may start, with Alessi / Mullen likely to be on the bench as cover. I was going to go & have a look at the squad train this morning. Lookers Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Setting up a live stream is not just about the logistics of what plugs into what. Clubs also need to seek approval from governing bodies ie football nsw, FFA etc. These processes take time. I'm also not certain why people think that it's our responsibility to get a live stream sorted. We are the away side, we just need to worry about our personnel. The organisation of the live stream should be done by the home club along with booking security, event staff, ball boys, ambulance etc.
