Jowel Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Thought I’d start a thread all about the location of the home end at Parramatta Stadium, since it will be the treasured home for the active support during the season. The home end is the northern end of the stadium. It’s an all-seater concourse, taking up bays 53 to 59. This section of the stadium is contained on the west side of bay 53 by a vehicle access route, and on the east side of bay 59 by a fence. Here is a photo of the northern end which I took at the club launch: From what I can determine from the above photo, there are about 1,880 seats in the home end. So that means, when seasons tickets/memberships come out make sure you snap up a seat in the home end ASAP! Here’s some further stadium maps… Stadium aerial: Stadium map:
wilsonpastore Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 we could definately fill up every single one of those 2000 northern end seats each week as we have the many active supporter groups vying for those positions
matty Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Good thinking Jowel, was wandering about this, its been years since I've been to Parra Stadium.
Taurus Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Mack's got a couple of shots I took from behind the goal from row 1 and row 12 or so. If he consents to post them, it may wet the appetite in terms of the view you can expect to have from the home support area.
Chaopescado Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 f*ck me completely forgot how small the home end will be, we better be quick on those memberships!
moxey25 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 f*ck me completely forgot how small the home end will be, we better be quick on those memberships! Lol ikr. Well bring it on I say, may the best man win. I'll be applying as quick as possible
Jowel Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 PS. When the 30 odd Rovers fans visited Parra Stadium on 7 Feb 2010 for the SFC v Glory game, they were in Bay 40, in the south-west corner, at the southern end of the stadium .
Llama Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 If we ever outgrew the north terrace, it seems like it continues into the east stand anyway. Not a problem
Jowel Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 Yeah, see in that photo there is a corner bay (Bay 60) on the east side where the group could grow out. However it's on the other side of a dividing fence. Other annoying thing is that nobody can stand at the very back behind the advertising boards on the grassed area at the top (you can't see the game). Before they installed the concourse seating the ends were grass and the capacity of the stadium was 27,000. Not any more. Now only 21,000.
DiscoD Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 400 members here, another 100-200 in other unofficial supporter groups, whoever else wants to sit with the cool kids, 2000 seats to pick from... not reaching for my calculator, but it may take a bit of time to completely fill that section, lads. Like most here, I do have a beautiful mental image of the place being full, but, realistically, that may be a bit down the track...
Llama Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 That's right DiscoD. Not even some of the best groups in Europe get consistently 2000 people a game actively, so let's not prepare ourselves for high expectations..:
Jowel Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 The club will likely only have a certain allocation of home end season tickets to sell. So get in quick. They would want to keep a number of tickets available to buy for non-season ticket fans too.

cpcDanger Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Are we 100% sure the north end will be the active home bay?
Taurus Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 No warm up / training fields are at the southern end.
TSC Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I'm confused , so i have a few questions. Why is the North the home end and not South? Which end has the scoreboard? Are you free to walk around to the side of the stadium or are the ends closed off with fencing?
BoxtoBox Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 yeah curious myself why we are north and not south?? we should have the best, why is north the better end?
BoxtoBox Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 its a bit unorthidox, but has anyone touched on the idea of being in the West stand.....not behind the goals but would make a good talking point............keeping it west and all. Went to an away game with the cove to central coast a few years back and sat on the leagues club side due to the palm trees being behind the goals at one end. It wasnt that bad sitting on the side. Imagine if we could grow a mass of support to fill the Western stand down the track....just a thought
wilsonpastore Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 yeah curious myself why we are north and not south?? we should have the best, why is north the better end? because the south end has the family bay where there is no-alcohol and no standing permited
Taurus Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 It will up to the club and trust to negotiate, however, the Eels have always had the northern end as their home end. Alcohol is sold and the baking sun is over your right shoulder not in your face. The southern end has always been non alcohol / family end.

Benched Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Probably due to the fact the South End is the family area during the NRL season. Alcohol free, segregated from the rest by separate gates and fencing. We are 'assuming' it will be the same for the HAL. Anyone have a further clarification on this.
Taurus Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 so where is the scoreboarD? Southern End. My pictures earlier in this thread, were taken from where we expect to be located.
