He has earned 4 caps for Australia, scoring 2 goals in the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup. He began brightly at the Wanderers adding spark to an otherwise lacklustre attack reliant on Oriol Riera and was named Captain for the 2019/20 season. He left at the end of the season to pursue a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, played 13 games there before coming back to the Wanderers for the remainder of the 2020/21 season on loan. He performed well enough to earn a call up to the Australian National team for their June 2021 World Cup Qualifiers and then played in the Tokyo Olympics as an over-age player.

Yea confirmed Machida Zelvia signed him. I think age may be the issue I really thought an English League One team may have look at him or at least a higher J2 team. May be a case of winding down the career and ending it in Japan where he has seemed the most settled. Granted he will be 32 in 2023.

A friend of mine in Japan explained that Machida Zelvia was bought out by a large Digital Marketing company in Tokyo called Cyber Agent and they  have signed ‘J-League’ quality players to push for promotion to the J-league. Like for example they signed a Brazilian player who helped Wuhan win the Chinese Super League this season and he was their best player.

Imagine him up front in this team with Borello and Amor next to him and Ninko sliding him those sexy passes, if only tho they do say third time is a charm

I don’t think he will be leaving Japan any time soon. His team Machida are in a very good position in the J2 League and have every chance to score promotion to the J-League plus he has built a very good partnership with Erik

Yea I don't think Duke comes back any time soon. Pretty sure he wants at least a season in J-league and this team looks like it may challenge for promotion.

May I ask how he's putting his family first?

His kid's mother (his ex) seems to have custody of their kids, and he frequently goes months without seeing them.

Players like Mooy, Rogic, Vukovic are all players I would say have put their family's first - I'm not sure I would put Duke in that category?

Firstly, I'm not having a go at you when I say there are many ways a dad can support thier family without having custody. He would be supporting them financally. His son was with him at the last world cup. he would zoom with them often I would assume......just sayin'....
