Trifiro is a tryer but unfortunately we lose a lot with him on the park. We lost a lot of midfield strength when La Rocca came off for him.

You can't compare la rocca a starter to trifiro a squad player. He is there purely as a backup and someone we can fit quite cheaply under the salary cap. But I agree, we definitely didn't look as good on the pitch with both poljak and la rocca off!

I thought he played decently, nothing special or flash - but he did the job, but that's what is expected of him when he's playing in the position he's "supposed" to.

Did a solid job, I agree. La Rocca and Poljak are incredible players, unfair to compare with our fourth choice midfielder.

Terrible.

More game time trifiro gets, the better he will play for WSW. He barely gets on the park and usually when he does it's for limited minutes. Nothing flash but do his job he's meant to do

...and given the more time he will get due to the extra games i would not be surprised to see a lift in the quality of his play. In fact against Kawasaki we saw exactly that

Thanks zola for your insightful opinion. I remain confident in his potential as I do have faith in all our players...no that's not true, there is someone who is out of his depth but I will leave it at that...

Why would he get any better than he is now? 25 years old, played with us for two seasons, still hasn't got a goal, has 1, maybe 2 assists.

Yeh.. 25, his life is over... He should get a job at a bank..

I didn't know sh#t at 25.. just like most sub 25's on here (they just don't know that yet)...  :-)

match fitness, I don't know, some players are late bloomers...this is his opportunity. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

He's got match fitness. He's had it for two years.

the issue with trifiro isnt the supposed lack of goals/assists, its more that he just sucks at defending lol.

he's a pretty good passer and always looks busy in the midfield, but the fact that he's not a good defender has seen mooy, poljak and la rocca keep him out of the side for the majority of the last two seasons

He would be rubbing it in to his brother right now i think.

My theory is that he is channeling his inner Shinji. First off he is keeping to a similar height to Tensai. Next, he has closely cropped hair like our legendary marquee. Throw in the five o'clock shadow and boom...owns the midfield like Ono!

anyone see Jason loose his sh1t in injury time when Shinji and co. took the ball to the corner flag. Jason was sprinting up the middle of the park looking for the ball but gave them a spray the moment he saw them wandering off to the corner and stopped running, hands wailing in the air.

I love his work and I love his boardshorts :)

Nobody will have ever predicted this!!!

HA!

Trifiro power!

Can you imagine how much that would be paying? That's a lot of doughnuts.

We must do our best to nominate him ...

Saw that on the screen. Even Trifiro looked surprised. like wtf.

Good on him, great to see recognition for what's pretty much our 4th choice defencive midfielder.

Potential realised!!

In fact, I think he could go further by taking on a player or two on occasion. Changing things up like that creates uncertainty in the opposition making him even more of a weapon.

Some probing through balls wouldn't hurt either.

We've already got Mack's response. zola, care to comment?

has been very solid in his stints in the ACL.

worthy of a contract next season IMO.

Australian marquee?

Is this one of your jokes? I can't tell.
