I got no problem with any Australian player going to China with the money that they can offer.

If I was making $80K a year playing football and then was all of a sudden offered $1M I would be on the next plane to shanghai

Yeah he's so keen and committed to be a Wanderer he's leaving to go to China again........... :unknw:

Can't really blame him for getting one last pay day

He's only 24 lol. You don't have much faith in him do you!

Watch it, Golec to star in China and move to the EPL.

Oh **** 24? Really? Thought he was much older than that!!

He has had some very good games for us & the fact that he had 12 months with us would make his stock & salary rise two fold. His performances have been very hot & cold for us so I just hope he steps up his game a few levels it needs to perform in a cut throat league. So many Aussie's have gone over there and spent large periods of time on the bench for form and injury issues, I just hope he doesn't become another statistic!

I know a few sportsmen/women and have spoken to them about going overseas to earn the $$$ - but for some, it's all but a pipe dream. They know that their talents are good enough and exceed the expectations within Australia, but it falls short when they're put in a talent pool of 100's from various countries.

I'm not saying Golec isn't good enough to play o/s - he obviously is with another offer from the CSL - but I guess in the back of a players mind is that this offer may not come again. Dolla, dolla bills y'all.

From when he was at Adelaide:1521589_532924503469901_1778255876_n.png

If anyone can see this pic or saved it please let me know.

Real hazy memory

I think the official aleague twitter account said "tell us something you think might happen in this weekends round of aleague matches"

And golec said

"Definitely not me playing" or something similar.

Avg player at best

Think he has had a good run playing ACL for us and he bleeds Western Sydney, love him!

I still stand by my comment, actually ive upgraded it to non a league starting level player sub for a bench spot at best

Don't forget this is the aleague here, you can't fill your team full of Castelens, Spira's or Ono's. You have to use the best avaliable players you have at your disposal all within the squad caps & salarly caps.

His cross to Juric in the ACL final has won my everlasting loyalty. Doesn't mean he's a great player though

In the last two games i have never seen a wanderers player so poor. I can only hope Popovic informs him he is supposed to stifle the opponents attacks, not our own!

the optimism i'm supposed to have after watching Bulut's performance yesterday will never be realised until i see Golec off the team sheet.

The thing is he has only gotten worse and worse. When he arrived he was good defensively, and an assured CB. Now hes dog poo. He lets a winger just waltz around.

My ONLY defense for him, is when partnered with Ruka, and thats anyone for that matter, its a struggle. Ruka has no urgency in tracking back.

I guess he's just adjusting to the different demands that being a left back faces? Might be just teething problems, like Adelaide early last season.

I've really had it with Golec too. Having spent most of the season in Bay 47 watching Cole and Adeleke get sucked out of position both by tracking opponents too far into their own half or being led around to break the offside trap, I was delighted when we bought Yusuke and he looked solid. Then Golec suddenly does the same, and on the left side of the pitch where NTS doesn't have the legs to cover (and increasingly looks like he's lacking the positional game).

Against Sydney, Golec played LW instead of LB, leaving a back 3 with Hamill stuck on his own at CB and NTS looking ragged every time he was run at. He needs to focus on defending before moving forward, especially given his recent tendency to switch off and fail to track back - Ruka isn't going to give him much support but I'd rather we were forced to play through Yojiro and La Rocca in the middle and then use Ruka to switch play than see what we saw against Sydney.

I don't know what's worse, Golec's throws or the players standing still on the field.

Do we have no plan or set piece at all? I have one: get it to a player wearing the same shirt as you.

I swear we may as well just give our throw ins to the other team because they end up with the ball anyway.

His biggest issue (in this regard, at least) is that he plays on the left, therefore has Ruka in front of him. Lad just doesn't want the ball in tight areas. I'd be quite interested to see the percentage of ball lost from throw-ins left v right side.

No loss if he went.

Great guy it seems but all night Seoul attacked him.

Most coaches know he is a CB playing out of position.

Wouldn't mind either. He seems like a great bloke thats true, but damn it they tore him a new arsehole tonight, especially in the second half.

Taurus

He's a poor LB & even worse CB.

I reckon he'll get plenty of splinters in his arse sitting on the bench at Perf with Thwaite & Djulbic in their squad.

I wish Antony all the best at Perth, but I am glad that Popa came to his senses and didn't give him a new contract. Next one to go would be Topor for mine. Great last line defender, but just looks so uncomfortable on the ball and just about always gives the opposition possession with his long bombing clearances. That will then get rid of the 'donkey' defenders we have.

We need a new centre back to partner and guide Aspro who will be a Wanderers defender for many years to come.

Can we sign a fullback now popa? Good service, one star earning cross and passion for the club. Ultimately not needed for next season.
