His team just got knocked out of the Champions League by a team from the Faroe Islands. 3-3 AET, 3-4 on pens.

He did a job though, scored a goal and an assist and scored his pen in the shootout.

Pretty crazy how 5 months ago he was playing in the a league and now he’s playing 90 minutes in the Europa league vs Bayer leverkusen

I think there was more implication in his statement than just output. I sort of read between the lines that MC was happy to pay mroe for him because he's a household name. In a pure footballing sense, Goodwin and Layouni were the best wingers in the league last season though, thats for sure

Agreed. The thing is though City need those "names" to get people there. If we play decent football, score goals, and win stuff people will turn up. Layoni would have been a big help in doing that. We basically let one of the best imports in the league go.

Dissappointing really, we also did it with no replacement lined up

City have reportedly had a transfer bid for Layouni rejected by his club Hacken.
