The Western Sydney Wanderers to kick off Season 2019/20 in Western Australia up against Perth Glory in the FFA Cup.
The 2019/20 season will begin in earnest in Western Australia in the FFA Cup. Markus Babbel will want his rebuilt team to perform far better than the club did last year, despite a semi-final finish after losing to Sydney FC 3-0 the Wanderers were far from impressive in their wins against Darwin Hellenic, Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Melbourne City.
The other A-League vs A-League fixtures: are Sydney FC vs Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory vs Wanderers and Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets.
The State League fixtures: Canberra Tigers FC vs Hume City, South Hobart vs Marconi Fairfield, Adelaide Olympic vs Floreat Athena, Magpies Crusaders vs Coomera Colts, Olympic FC vs Bayswater City, St George vs Sydney United, Darwin Olympic vs Edgeworth Eagles, FC Bulleen Lions vs Moreland Zebras and Mt Druit Town Rangers vs Manly United.
The NPL vs A-League fixtures are: Maitland FC vs Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne Knights vs Adelaide United, Campbelltown City SA vs Melbourne City and Brisbane Strikers vs Wellington Phoenix.
The Wanderers preparation will include their Western Sydney Stadium grand opening against Leeds United on the 20th of July and one game against the Gold Coast Knights on the 24th of July as part of the pre-season camp. The FFA Cup matches will take place over the course of 3 weeks of mid-week fixtures starting from the 23rd of July. Presumably the Wanderers will ask for a later fixture to avoid having to cancel the pre-season camp in Queensland.
