The Western Sydney Wanderers will kick off their Australia Cup campaign in a Round of 32 clash against NPL Western Australia side Floreat Athena FC.
After failing to qualify for the last edition of the Australia Cup following a dismal qualifying play-off loss, the Wanderers will be looking to make a deep run in an effort to win the club's first major silverware in a decade with a long away trip to Litis Stadium on the shores of Perth's Lake Monger.
Floreat Athena were formed by Greek immigrants in 1951. The blue & white team in the Perth northern outskirts won the NPL Western Australia Premiership in 2022, but lost the Grand Final in a 6-3 loss to Perth SC in the Grand Final. This season they are flirting with relegation after having won just 5 games from 14 matches. Their last Australia Cup appearance was a 3-1 loss against A-League side Adelaide United.
After the qualifying play-offs being held in Darwin on the 17th & 18th of July are played, the Round of 32 will commence in early August.
