The Western Sydney Wanderers will travel to Newcastle and face the Broadmeadow Magic on Wednesday, 10 November.
With restrictions starting to lift across the country, the FFA today confirmed the Wanderers will play their first competitive fixture of the season in Newcastle on the 10th of November, being held at the No 2 Sportsground, kick off at 7:30pm.
It is not the first time the Wanderers have travelled to Newcastle for an FFA Cup clash, back in 2016 the Wanderers faced Edgeworth Eagles in the Round of 16, scoring a 5-1 win. The name Wanderers won't be unfamiliar to the area, as the Wanderers Rugby Club is hosted out of the Sportsground, perhaps a good omen for the football Wanderers as they kick-off their season following a long dark period of poor performance.
Other games involving NSW clubs include Blacktown City and the Central Coast Mariners travelling to Mudgee on Saturday the 13th, Newcastle Olympic hosting Macarthur FC at the same venue was the Wanderers game also on the 13th, a local Sydney clash between Sydney Olympic and Sydney FC from Belmore on Wednesday the 24th, a "Panthera tigris Derby" with Tigers FC of the ACT hosting the APIA Leichardt Tigers on the 24th and Mt Druitt Rangers facing the Wollongong Wolves.
