  • RBB Update For All WSW Members

    BigDukes

Following the compounding incidents over the season which culminated at the Perth Glory game, RBB representatives felt that it was essential to have an open dialogue with stakeholders that we felt were affecting the supporters, match day experience, and ultimately our club.

dialogue is at least a good beginning, disappointed that the FFA who hire all the security/police couldn't turn up to the meeting.

Poor effort by FFA who at the end of the day, benefit from the RBB and the wider WSW family.

Following the compounding incidents over the season which culminated at the Perth Glory game, RBB representatives felt that it was essential to have an open dialogue with stakeholders that we felt were affecting the supporters, match day experience, and ultimately our club.

As a result, RBB representatives requested a meeting with the following stakeholders; WSW club executives, Pirtek Stadium Representatives (Venues NSW), the FFA, Parramatta Council, and Parramatta Police Local Area Command. The club facilitated this meeting which took place 26 March. Unfortunately the FFA was not in attendance.

Whilst we believe it is not in the interest of a positive resolution to go into specific details, we feel that the all parties acknowledged that there is a serious issue with the game day experience, specifically the approach taken by some police and stadium. RBB representatives communicated their concerns and the concerns passed onto them by fans from grandstands. The result was an undertaking by all stakeholders that they would work to rectify the situation. We now wait for evidence at the Brisbane home match that our concerns were taken on board, and the experience will improve.

Furthermore, club matters were also discussed, with specific reference to the club email following the ACL and subsequent statement. We believe that the club has acknowledged that the wording of their email could have been clearer, given the confusion it created amongst the greater WSW family, and understand that it would look to clarify this in the near future.

The RBB will continue to create a wonderful atmosphere leading up to the finals and support our club.

We urge every single member to attend the final home game to support the team, and importantly bid farewell to Shinji Ono as this is his last regular home game fixture

Good to learn that there is a degree of consensus. Very poor by FFA to not attend. Total lack of respect towards the club they still own, their customers, and the people whos salaries they pay. FFA really has no idea.

I saw the FFA & co. (Gallop) at the Sydney Opera last night watching bingo.

Still not an excuse for not having at least one FFA representative turning up.

Great news. Great work from all involved.

Baby steps but suffice to say I think the police would be embarrassed by what's been going on.

South Africa did nothing wrong, why punish us. Why should we miss out on "'straya! clap clap clap"

Great work by the club and the RBB standing up for the fans rights!! Hopefully we will see some positive changes come our next match!!

Also good to see fences seem to be mended in the RBB and club situation. Nice to see the relationship going in a positive direction.

we should of told the FFA that the media :bad:  (channel 9) would also be at the meeting. See how quick smart they would of been able to attend!

Nice one guys, its a step in the right direction from all parties

Also I really appreciate the time taken to communicate whats going on behind closed doors with the rest of us - would love more communications always though.

Good step in the right direction.A lot of maturity shown from the leadership.

At the end of the day we need to work closely with all parties including the police as to escalate any differences would lead to a lose ,lose scenario.

This has been an incredibly frustrating few weeks.

Lets get behind our team and show unequivocal support for each other.

    Hope has been restored!

Well done BigDukes and the RBB for their efforts in arranging the meeting and helping ensure its success. Open and honest communication is always better than any alternative.

Despite what some believe, I am certain that all football-related parties (yes, including FFA) have the best interests of the game at heart - they just approach things from a different perspective.

Let's ensure that a loud and positive atmosphere supports our team as the season reaches its climax!

I get the impression he FFA's perspective is delusional. Out of desperation they invited Western Sydney back to football, but don't like the tribal nature we brought with us. They thought they had finally stamped it out in Melbourne, only to see us inspire the whole league to join in. No surprise considering this is the same mob that kicked Wolves out. A club that still pays a motza to Win Stadium to play state league.

Don't take my word for it, I heard this on one of triple M's NRL shows

    • In many ways thats the A-League, only SFC, MV, WSW, Perth (if they can ever get a decent side again), similar for the Roar are going to get decent crowds... more recently Auckland as well.... just off the pace is Newcastle if they can get a decent side and Adelaide..  all the rest struggle.... Its kinda why WSW is important to the league as a whole.... over 200K registered players, by my count 11 former NSL clubs and large state league clubs... parts of WS are Football heartland especially in the south west... and more recently the Hills playing numbers are exploding...
    • Yes 3 x men's derbies - 1-2 loss > 4-2 loss > 3-3 draw 2 x women's derbies - 1-0 loss > 0-2 loss Combined goal difference = -6
    • Are we P 5 W 0 D 1 L 4 for our season derbies so far? The GD would be shocking too.  It would be embarrassing to the club if they gave a ****
