RBB Travel Advisory - Sydney Derby - Saturday 15th December

The RBB have come to consensus on the travel arrangements for the Sydney Derby this weekend.

The "RBB Train" will be a Richmond to Central service that will make it's way through the following stations:

Richmond, East Richmond, Clarendon, Windsor, Mulgrave, Vineyard, Riverstone, Schofields, Quakers Hill, Marayong, Blacktown, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Pendle Hill, Wentworthville, Westmead, Parramatta, Harris Park, Granville, Lidcombe, Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern, Central.

Times as follows for major stations:

    Richmond - 2:16pm

    Windsor - 2:26pm

    Blacktown - 2:54pm

    Parramatta - 3:12pm

    Granville - 3:16pm

    Strathfield - 3:28pm

    Central - 3:42pm

As always, people will be meeting up at the Woolpack prior to leaving Parramatta.

Once we reach Central Station we will be at the Bat & Ball Hotel, 495 Cleveland Street, Surry Hills. To get there from Central Station, take either the Chalmers Street or Elizabeth Street exits, then follow those roads south until you get to Cleveland Street. Turn left, heading up Cleveland Street until you get all the way to the end. It's on the corner.

We will be there until at least 5:30 around that time we will leave to the Stadium.

Unfortunately the Tway won't be free though :(

I think you should talk to the club about this because ALL public transport is supposed to be FREE.  I can't see why the Tway is an exception.

It's all Public transport with the specific definition being owned by the Government.

Private companies like Hill/West Bus aren't public owned despite being 'public transport'.

T-Way is free though, that's public transport but might be operated by private companies it still counts:

All tickets to the A-League game at Allianz Stadium include travel to and from the game on CityRail and regular Sydney Buses (STA) services, special event shuttle bus services between Central Station and Moore Park, Liverpool to Parramatta T-way buses and Sydney Ferries services.

Thanks, Mack - I thought the Tway was included.

Serves me right for making assumptions that only direct public transport to Central is free.

It's important to point out that it's only the Liverpool - Parramatta T-Way that's included. The Blacktown - Rouse Hill and Parramatta - Rouse Hill sections aren't included since they're run by private bus companies.

Saying that, I've managed to convince the driver that I'm allowed to travel for free more than once, so by all means have a go but don't be surprised if you get a hard arse and have to pay.

If we were getting the train to central from Liverpool, we'd have to go via Granville anyway, which is only a couple of stops from Parra. I'll flash my ticket and see what they say. I might even just flash my Wanderers membership, driver wouldnt know the **** difference haha.

Have we worked out which T-Way we're all getting on?

    Just on the t-way:

IF we're aiming to get to Parra between 1-1:30, we have a few options:

12:19 from Memorial (my stop, and probably the first one any of us will be getting on)

Arrives at Parra at 1:14 (ETA @ Woolie 1:30)

    or

    11:59 from Memorial

    Arrives at Parra @ 12:54

    ETA @ Woolie - 1:10pm

My mates and I have been catching the tway for free since day one. Not issues so far. Bus drivers seem well-informed.

cant remember the number llama but im pretty sure the trains that pull into the platform that is closest to the regional trains, but in the main section of central, they all go from there across the bridge - and im pretty sure all the fast trains from parra do that as well. Its probably platform 15 or 17 or something... if that helps
