  • Member Ticket Purchase Window + Free Public Transport

    mack

Wanderers members will have an exclusive window tomorrow to purchase tickets for the Sydney Derby.

It has also confirmed that it has matched the Sydney FC membership offer of free public transport to matches.

The final announcement is that prior to the first Wanderers match against Central Coast, that all foundation members will be recognised on the field for joining the club in it's inaugural year.

The Western Sydney Wanderers are very happy to announce that the exclusive opportunity for Wanderers FC Members to buy additional tickets to ALL this season's matches (including the first Sydney Derby) tomorrow.

The Western Sydney Wanderers make their Hyundai A-League debut at Parramatta Stadium on Saturday 6 October against Central Coast Mariners (7.45pm).

In Week Three (Saturday 20 October, 7.45pm kick off), we’ll see the first ever Sydney derby between the Wanderers and Sydney FC also at Parramatta Stadium.

The only way to guarantee a seat at these historic matches is to become a Wanderers Foundation Member.

There wont be much time to act so make sure you tell every Wanderers supporter that only Wanderers members can buy tickets starting tomorrow. Everyone who has signed up as part of the football family will be able to purchase tickets from 9am this Friday so keep an eye out for specific communication from the Football Family.

The purchase link was provided in a separate email to existing members so please check all email folders and spam filters in case you missed the second email.

Anyone know whether the tickets can be bought in specific sections (i.e. near our member's reserved seating)? I'm thinking of purchasing a couple of guest tix for each match.

So the club is offering free travel too the games, or just from parra station > stadium via the bus?

I'm pretty sure the Smurf FC membership offer was relating to all public transport. So if we are matching it then it probably refers to all public transport. But I would e-mail or ring the club to confirm.

Yeah, i was a little confused, because i know Smurf FC had a deal with Shityrail for free public transport, and if WSW somehow managed to match that, then thats quite impressive. I was happy with free shuttle bus from station to stadium though

I'm only hoping that all these new membership goodies being offered, have not arisen because we have had disappointing results in selling memberships; that they are not a sign of desparation to increase membership sales. I say this because, working as a volunteer in the "tent" at some venues, I have had to answer people's fears that it is too dangerous to go to Wanderers' games. I was quite shocked that people believe what they read in the Telegraph.

Also SFC's membership took a big jump up after all of Sydney's Italian community leapt on board with them - bah, humbug!

All that aside, I'm thrilled with the new offers.

That probably is the case. After travelling overseas to a few different places I find a lot of Australians are extremely precious, and naive to the extreme (not meaning to offend anyone as I was born here myself). They'll believe what anyone tells them, rather than finding out for themselves.

We will just have to ride this out, and hopefully the TV pictures will tell the story. But yeah.. the Telegraph farked us up big time in terms of getting the mainstream masses to come to the games.

Not only is your club un-original, but it stinks of falling behind big time. I guess the old saying rings true. If you want beat em', join em'. At least the market will be a bit more competitive, so should make it a bit more fun.

I agree that your club's home game means it should pack out with your lot, but the way they have handled this is quite poor. We have an allocated area, which is quite good, but not enough me feels. We need at least 2-4 more bays to make it top shelf (Parramatta bays are small from memory)

Remember, on the return fixture, you guys will most likely be given the whole southern end (Bays 1-5 most likely), which is about 5,000 seats, maybe more. So if anyone thinks that we need less bays is a bit stupid, because you'll have a fat chunk of our stadium when you come to town. Sharing is caring :)

Just wanted to say I'm quite sure the free public transport has been an initiative of the NRL and AFL with Ticketek for as long as I remember. You can't claim to have come up with free transport to football games....in the grand scheme of things such intiatives exist in Australian sport for eons, and therefore SFC copied them.

Its a viable plan that anyone can adobt. Its not copying.

I went to the cricket last year with free transport

It never used to incorporated into season tickets. And often was used in 1 off deals. I have seen it floating around for years.

Yes it is a viable plan, that anyone can adopt, but pretty sure we were the first in the league to do so, then it just so happens the new boys up the road also do it. It's pretty clear that you are trying to compete, and thus the quote I stated earlier has such significance.

*BZZT* Wrong. Im currently sitting in my friends study in the wonderfully dull Seven Hills. Oh and 'Heavy Asian influence' my ass.

Comparing Free Public transport to a fan forum is quite literally the strangest thing I have seen in a while (No offence mate)

Free Public Transport generally entices fans from greater area's to come to the matches at SFS for a cost that is $0 (membership aside)

A fan forum is used to gauge fans idea's and interests of a club they already support, not to drum up more support. (usually only for the curious and die-hards)

Or am I missing an in-joke here or something?

Ok. Piss-take aside I did notice that. But from the way turner worded it, it seemed to me he was comparing a way of enticing members to come to games, to a way to see what fans of a club want to see within their club. . . .

I may be wrong, but I think free public transport has been included as a membership benefit for the Roar for a few years. I know it's 100% in there this season and pretty sure it has been for the last few.

So really to talk about our club being un-original when we've done exactly the same thing as yours is a little bit rich.

If you follow the Ticketek link in the email the club sent out today it'll send you to a page with a link to buy additional tickets for every home game this season. You click on any game and just below all the ticket categories it'll have this

    Hey guys

Just in reply to some of the questions there regarding the increased benefits. Simply put we had aimed to include all of these when we launched our membership on sale but did not have them locked away 100% therefore held back the announcements to make sure we were no making promises that couldn't be kept. Yes the Free transport is all Public transport on game days, even the ferries!!

Simply email memberships@wswanderersfc.com.au for any specific questions.
