  • ACL Final Live Site Centenary Square Parramatta

    mack

Parramatta City will be hosting a live site for the Asian Champions League final second leg on Sunday morning.

Set to be officially revealed tomorrow, the live site will be at Centenary Square Parramatta, previously known as the Church Street Mall.

Opposite the Parramatta Town Hall, the precinct was recently given a $5 million dollar restoration and this live site will be one of the first major events held there.

    From the Wanderers 'official' email:

    CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL ON SUNDAY

Make sure you witness us make history when we take on Al-Hilal in the second leg of the Champions League Final. Tune in on Fox Sports 1 or head to a live sight with kick-off at 4:30am on Sunday.

    Live "sight"?!

    Oh FFS.

    It's simple grammar people!!!

I'll like the sight of the site when I sight the Wanderers win at the site.

Tomi Juric was on Ch9 news today and said that he is getting goose bumps just by thinking about the live site. Apparently the boys are wrapped because they know we'll get out of bed or stay out of bed to bed to support them.

PS Me thinks that good ol' Kenny Sutcliffe shall return as a WSW fan.

Not with 14 fans there. Unless we win.

He needs to attend a game at Parra.

    Then........he will become a fan.

You don't hang out with Popa's boys for six days without being impressed.

Yeah mate, know Aaron as an old coach of his

You weren't his coach at the Redbacks by any chance were you?

If so it's possible you presided over them smashing us 8-0 once (I don't think Mooy was playing, wouldn't have known at the time though).

The Hammers are playing at 2am :meep:

This^ I'm hoping I don't get migrated to the live site before the game finishes. Almost missed the last train from Parra last week watching us beat City to the final whistle. Had to sprint all the way from the collector to the station.

Try burning some of that nervous energy. Maybe go for a run or something. Although there's a giant storm rolling in where I am so perhaps you'll have to stay inside too.

Yeh this storm is not looking good. I'll be there rain hail shine but I'm not sure how many share that disposition. Don't want this live site to be a let-down because a good one will only facilitate more in the future.

I have similar concerns. But if I have to move on, Twitter can and will keep me more than informed :)

Best place to park? I don't mind paying for "secure" parking, but have no idea which parking lots are open at 3:30 on a Sunday morning in Parramatta.

I'd rather catch the train, but the trains don't run early enough :(

The match is in 12 hours.. the weather will be nothing like it is now

As for parking, there should be plenty of spots on the street at that time of night. plus, street parking is free on sundays

Honestly gettinng to enjoy the game with the RBB and fellow wanderers supporters it doesn't worry me how big the screens are

I think I managed to see about 5 mins of the actual game when I was at the derby a couple of weeks ago because I was in in the RBB but I wouldn't have it any other way it's all about the atmosphere ..

And anyways with 3 screens that size I'm sure we will be able to see it

I have be sooooooooooooooooo ***** busy today, I haven't stopped for a moment until now which has actually been really good as it took my mind of things a bit.

But now after I have sat down and put my feet up for a hard earned rest my mind is drifting back towards it all and I am getting reallllly nervous again!

Can't wait.... but I can wait if that makes sense  :shok:

I was going to park on a street somewhere, probably marsden street. Leaving home in prestons at 3:20. Gives enough time to be parked and at the square before kick off. Cannot wait guys and gals.

No mate, I was coach when he was with Granville Association reps Under 11 in 2000. He was 9 playing up two years.

That dedication...to travel interstate to watch game on a TV screen! Come on buddy, do it!

It's done, procrastination is over... i'm on a plane tomorrow night & will BE THERE !!!

Now I'm getting really excited. The other prospect was watching in my unit at 3:30am and NOT being able to go crazy (got my nephew's 6 mth year old baby staying with me atm). Love my folks, they're coming to stay with him as I come down for HISTORY IN THE MAKING....

Thanks for the prodding my fellow Wanderers. I met many in the RBB at last year's GF in Brissie. Caught a train ride from Helensvale which was awesome and walked the route from Roma Street to the stadium right past the Den's pub. Great day that, looking forward to more of it !!

make sure to stand out so we can all shout a complementary drink if u head into either of the pubs before the live venue

Thanks guys. I'm not exactly sure what my plans are yet. Have some friends who live in Glenfield and there is talk they may go to Club Marconi for the game. I would like the Parra option as I'm staying with a different friend in Winston Hills.

If I make it to Parramatta, I'll definitely swing by the Woolpack for some cold ones. Not sure how to stand out unless I wear my black polo with my old 'nickname' on it "Lean Beef" & wear the wanderers jersey underneath that!! See how it pans out.

I'll stand out.... look for me holding the SIGN above my head. (It won't let me paste it here)

***** storm. Just got home and realised we'd left the bedroom window open.

I'm not experienced in superstitions or omens but wet carpet, marks on the wall and a fried alarm clock are good for tonight right?

    • 1 year contract extension this pre-season after scoring 9 goals at his age suggests he & his agents were expecting good performances over the remaining two years of the deal to enable a move to Asia or Europe, or at minimum, a very good A-League contract. It probably has a release clause now too.
    • Credit to Lions City, they suffocated Sanfrecce Hiroshima for a draw at home, they embarrassed the Smurfs there too. But Lion City do not have a good away record in the ACL2, they have only won 1 game against a Thai Club so this would go in Smurfs favour at home
