  • Operation A-League: Fairfield Advance

Football Federation Australia this month announced the formation of the Western Sydney A-League club and last Thursday hundreds of soccer fans and professionals met at Mounties to discuss the new team’s name, colours and logo.

Mr Sartoretto said the under-utilised Fairfield Showground was the ideal location for an A-League team with the potential for the construction of a new stadium that could form the basis of a new entertainment hub for the west.

“The transport links from the showground are great with the T-way, a new shuttle bus service, the road links are all here and there is a lot of area here that can be developed,†he said.
