  • Dino Cracks Parra FC Defense In Wanderers Home Debut

    mack

Dino Kresinger scored the only goal of the match to give Wanderers the win against Parramatta FC in their home stadium debut.

The Wanderers dominated the game from start to finish but took until the 60th minute to break the deadlock. Parramatta FC's chances were few and far between, with their best being a goal disallowed for offside after a long range shot was deflected by a player who was adjudged to be offside. Kubi again was a standout as he constantly attacked his marker, taking on multiple men and drawing fouls. He caused major problems for the defense and is set to play a key role in the season proper.

The RBB had it's first pre-match at the Woolpack Hotel and I would say about double the social night numbers turned up. The march up Church Street was golden, with people stopping what they were doing to watch and record the RBB going past. A lot of new members who put work in and got the hang of the chants quickly. A number of new chants were done during the match and will add to the repertoire. Not a single moment of trouble occurred and RBB members should be proud of their ongoing efforts to improve as we gear up for Round 1.

The Wanderers next match is against Newcastle Jets. It will be played at 2pm, next Saturday the 15th September. The appropriately named Wanderers Oval, Broadmeadow will play host. This match has previously been said to be a Newcastle Jets only match, but there is talk from the club that it will be open to Wanderers members as well. We will await further confirmation from the club in the next few days.

Was at the game. Did Aaron Mooy come on the second half in no 15 or was that someone else?

A bit scrappy especially in the first half, but is to be expected I suppose with so many new players.

Hersi I think is better suited out wide, seemed to be playing more central in the first half.

I though Minniecon was quite impressive when he come on.

Still a few weeks to the season start so should start to gell a bit better once the first eleven is settled on.

Thought Trifiro also looked handy when he came on but it was hard to keep track of all the players with so many coming and going.

Man the RBB absolutely smashed it tonight. Well in everyone. I had mates in the stands who said they were pretty impressed (even if we did slow down after 70 odd minutes haha... but we're not exactly match fit yet either).

The team in the second half was much better I thought. I was very impressed with the no.22 in defence, no.2 in attack and no.6 on the right hand side. Although I had no idea who they were to be honest. Also thought that Trifiro and Haliti looked dangerous in attack.

Yes. They sounded very good for the size they had. Actually in the first half they were probably a bigger attraction than the game itself.

Kresinger and Poljak? how they played?

I wasn't that impressed with Kresinger. Never really looked like doing something. Not sure who Poljak was.

Minniecon looks good, seemed to have dropped a few pounds!! Dino's looks like he's gonna be class. Trifiero looking better with every game. The number 6 at the back was poor. Don't think it was Mooy that came on, looked like Olsson, a NYL player.

Think Poljak was the 6 in midfield, looked alright.

    On the game.

Kubi is much better suited coming off the bench and running at tired defenses. Not quite a starter just yet.

Kresinger (#9 first half) got better as the game went on. Big lump of a man, and was able to hold the ball up when played in at his feet or in the air. He won't be troubling anyone with 'pace'

Minneconn (#21) played the same role as Aaron Mooy and was best on ground. If he can get fit, he could be awesome for us. He just needs more game time and fitness. Skill level is there and can pick a pass, just needs to get fit !

Right Back (#6) absolutely stinks. No idea who he is or was, but he gave away the ball so many times with poor passes or a poor first touch. There were 2 number 6's for a while there and the other 6 was ok, but the right back was horrible.

Blondie - 2nd half. Was it Mooy ? I didn't think it was. Looked lively and quick. Want to see him again. Only got limited minutes but showed promising signs.

Another clean sheet, but still a stack of work to do.

Then I don't mind Poljak. He seems to fight hard for the ball, and looked dangerous on occasions.

Bit scrappy overall. Minecon caught my eye in the second half. It's obvious their main weapon for the season will be using the pace they have on the wings to get those crosses into the number 9. But I'm hoping they'll mix it up some more and try to play more through the midfield and try to break down defensive lines rather than just depend on speed and height.

    Also - well done RBB.

I sat in bay 55 as I couldn't get involved with my knee, but for the limited numbers that were there, you guys were great. Even had the coppers smiling at the 'Ch 9 full of sh*t chant'.

Poznan looked fantastic. We very nearly scored when u were doing it. Would of been funny coz I would of been the only one cheering. Haha

    Wasn't Minneconn #12?

The right back #6 was shocking!!

The #17 looked okay, just not match fit.

    The blonde def wasn't Mooy.

I think 21 was Trifiro, I managed to write a few numbers when the squad was announced, he was playing central midfield and looked quite good, Minniecon was 12 and playing wide right in the second half

No 6 at right back I'm pretty sure was Polenz the German signing who I thought was supposedly more a defensive midfielder. Did take a good free kick early on which he nearly scored from, I wouldn't write him off just yet especially if he was playing out of position.

Apologies if 21 was Trifiro. Wish the team had been allocated kit numbers already.

21, playing in Mooy's position of a deep lying midfielder and pinging passes all around was motm. I thought it looked like Minneconn but it obviously wasn't !

In that case, Trifiro impressed me !

The #6 that started the game in defence was bad, he had dark hair and im pretty sure he was one of the imports. The light hair #6 that came on in the 2nd half was solid.

I really liked watching Dino play, he can hold the ball up and lay it on for another player. I couldn't figure out why Mooy was playing al the way on the left, now I know it wasnt him....that kid looked pretty good too.

#17 was very quick and had a bit of skill, hope he gets another trial.

Few thoughts on the stadium - view from upper tier on half way is cracking, must be one of the better seats Ive had in any stadium, Im glad i chose it for my season pass. The new screen looks like its going to be huge. Only 3 ticket booths open was a poor effort from the Parra Stadium Trust.

There was a large group of 12yo kids from some football academy near me, at one stage they broke into the ''RBB' chant, had to laugh.

Trifiro was the one who intercepted a pass and then put it through to the player on the left which eventually led to the Dino goal.

Mooy, Cole, NTS, Bridge, and Covis didnt play, they sat up in one of the boxes.

Polenz was the number 6 at right back. Was pretty poor, hope its just a matter of being out of position and fitness.

Kresinger looked good, will be what we need up front, once we get our full team on the pitch woth him it will be good.

Minneicon was productive and impressive off the bench.

No. 2 seemed to work very hard and get in good positions but seemed to always make the wrong choice or poor final ball.

Trifiro really settled the ship and took control when he came on, was good to see.

Haliti didnt do too much and Kubi was his exciting and productive self again.

No.17, dont know who he was but didnt do much to impress.

Otherwise overall it was a performance hindered by alot of different faces, most of them youngsters and trialist. I doubt popa would have been to happy with the style of play, and was definently more for fitness and giving players a run.

Oh and the RBB were great. If they can fill the 3 bays it will sound amazing.

Overall crowd was poor tho, Gorman needs to add some seriois advertising to all the community work being done otherwise itl be all for nothing if were not careful.

I thought Haliti showed a lot of class tonight.

As for the poor crowd. I think the bad reputation we have in the media is really starting to hurt us now. I think the perception is now there and people are staying away from our games. Also with the Del Piero signing I have heard SFC is at 7,000 memberships, and we haven't even passed 2,000. We need to win the crowd back or you might be right about it all being for nothing.

Can I say the poor crowd will be down to lack of advertisement.

The game was a parramatta fc home game, look at your tickets...and they did nothing to promote the game. As a result the crowd was small.

It was a training run also by the FFA and Wsw....hence why official ticketek tickets were used...previously at parranatta a small paper stub was the ticket.

The game was less about the actual mass marketing of the game but a dress rehearsal for the season, and a small contigent would have worked the best for the logistics crew working out the behind the scenes **** we don't want to deal with

    That's him.

I recall one lovely first time volley with his left peg with his back to the target.

His touch was not expected by those around him so he'll be more effective once he get used to working with the same lads week in week out.
