It wasn't a deflection. If you watch it back it was a deliberate attempt at a header that went back instead of forward. Own goal every day.

From my understanding deflection isnt defined by intent, only that it changes direction after touching a defender. Otherwise any shot a keeper gets hand to would be considered an OG. Attempts to pass, clear or change the angle of a ball that end up in the net are always registered to the attacker as long as the original strike was going in barring interefence

Either way, rando linkedin guy can give me clarification soon hopefully

What I want to know: did we win the game? Did we concede? Who can we blame for anything? Are we all happy? Stajic out? What about the formation?

Even I can't be unhappy with a 4-0 win. We were ace at times. The mariners a total shambles.

Formation? I always find it hard on telly as you don't get a wide view of the game.

But at times we looked like 4 - 2 - 3 -1 other times seemed like we had 2 up top.

When kraev and Milanovic seemed a bit narrower and Borello dropped

I've always said Stajic is a tactical genius though. William will back me up on that :)

Bonetig and Panta seemed to have settled in at the back.

Cleur nearly scored another screamer

I'm starting to love Sapsford in a mostly hetro sort of way

Well I watched the game from the NRMA caravan park in Batemans Bay and yea a couple of times I thought of you stringer and wondered what bad things you could find about this game so good to see you enjoyed it , 2 gifted goals a suspect penalty and great assist and goal from Sapsford and Clisby along with a should have been penalty they hit the post and I think that was the most excitement they got out of it.

and by the way where is the fair weather sailer from CCM called the midfielder no lectures been handed out lately

Turns and roundabouts of the A League.

While we all can have a shot at CCM just remember that they have won the championship twice since our last GF appearance, coming back from a few years on the outer....... and we have won it how many ?

As far as WSW are concerned I would be throwing too many stones tbh.

I found something to complain about. I couldn't be there so had to put up with Andrew Harper and the other clueless melt

Bonetig has improved leaps and bounds over the past few rounds, some solid blocks and tackles compared to earlier in the season when he would have lost out vs the attacker.

Pelakanos had a great game i though as did Panta and Clisby. A win vs Perth (and some results going our way) and we’re in the mix for top 4

I couldn’t understand how that trip on Kraev wasn’t a penalty.
Every commentator agreed that it was a penalty, EVEN Andy Harper!
I thought it was more of a penalty than our actual penalty.

Looked back..It was a penna and yes more so than the one given..

3 games on the bounce for me..

9 goals for us

4 against

Some at times direct and entertaining football...and yes period where we have been rubbish..but not for a whole game...

End result....value for money...I feel pretty good about what I have seen.. end of derby apart..

If you haven't been for a while...come back and give it a go...

Yep. Or if we do, it's a total grind and sluggish borefest with a scrappy goal.

Right now, when we are on our game, which we are in significant patches of a lot of our games now, and sometimes longer, we are enjoyable to watch. We take players on. We try to pick things apart with consistent combination play. It doesn't always come off but it's the A-league, and, we keep trying as well. When we have a go from distance, it's not because we've passed it around lazily through the midfield for 5 minutes and have run out of ideas, AND there's a chance we might actually score. Corners are better. The young un's are progressing - there are signs of incremental improvement in them.  I feel good about the team which is not something I've had for a long long time. That doesn't mean we're amazing, terrific, we're going to win the league, blah blah. But it's a start. Really hoping the start is built on rather than chucked in the bin.

Just watched highlights again,  that Pantsa goal kick,  I remember about 2/3 games ago, a free kick in injury time and he took a free kick from about 35 out, thought at the time this is going to be a waste, but on reflection his teammates let him take it, they must see him bang the ball pretty hard in training games and have faith in him for long shooting, he does seem very capable of whacking the the ball pretty hard 😳

Best performance of the station I think, every player (with one exception) stood out.

Kearsey trying to **** us by awarding soft free kicks against us and the non-penalty call ok Kraev was just laughable but we had the last laugh at the end

I hope this would be the last time Antonsson takes a penalty kick. He got lucky with the retake but the first one was very poor.

But we've been here before where we have humbled some teams then we get humbled the next week.

I think it would go down as an own goal as the keeper headed it back to goal.

Look at the CCM players, they didn't bother running back even before the GK howler, they just walked and Sapsford had all the time in the world just to put it away.

If we can get you east of Penrith on a game day…..then we know we are back in business.

It's difficult to gauge whether we were that good or the Mariners were absolute shyte or somewhere in-between. No-one actually had a blinder but most players did their bit. Perhaps also encouraging that we managed a four goal victory with Borrello and Milanovic nowhere near their best (despite what the TV commentators say.

Yep that's the mark alright. Make it Katoomba these days.

Saw his press conference and he seemed pretty honest actually. Said they didn't show up, didn't blame travel and said they didn't deserve anything from the game from how they played.

Not sure why you're attacking Midi. He is pretty balanced and open, supporting his team and not denigrating ours. He's open to conversation with us, which I think is pretty rare and good on him. Not sure why you'd expect him on here after his teams performance, I don't want to be here when we have a shocker.

Don’t know what your beef with Midfielder is, he is a pretty sound fella.

Yeps he's sound, I'm a nobhead but he's pretty sound really

Milanović's hideous selfishness in the first half, epitomises his lack of "team first" mentality.

A pass to Kraev was the only option, he was unmarked directly infront of goal. Any reasonable player would have setup Kraev for a most probable goal.

Instead, Milo has a piss weak shot.

He's been doing it all year.

Borello needs to stop thinking he is Ninković. His first touch and ball control has been a disaster.

Pelekanos reminds me of a young Ned Zelić. I like what he did against the Mariners.
