The scheduling was diabolical. Our game could have been scheduled on Sunday afternoon during school holidays. They could have had the Western Fraudsters vs Newcastle as the sole Friday night game

He chose the right game to attend as well it was a fantastic game.

Agreed, I am sure people know but I meant match not march 😂 nice to see him not be paraded around like he would be if he was at an AFL match

Bulls had 30 shots, which is the highest so far this season, but scored 1 with an xG on target of 2.25. Meanwhile Nix scored twice from 9 shots with an xG on target of 2.15.

The pen inflates the Nix numbers a fair bit and the keeper kept them in it.

Talking of xG, I'm still in the dark as to how the presentation of xG values is supposed to enhance my enjoyment of the TV broadcast. Can anyone please put me out of my misery?

They're getting better at only showing it when it's of note, rather than every game with the commentator feeling obliged to mention it.

It's similar to stats like possession in the last 5 minutes or last 10 shots. If possession was 50-50 and each team had taken 5 of the last 10 shots they aren't going to show it. But if one team had 80% possession in the last 5 mins or took all of the last 10 shots then the stat is noteworthy and they can bring it up to highlight the momentum. If one team is miles ahead in xG then it's a way to quantify the domination. Or if the losing team is ahead in xG that's noteworthy. If it's 0-0 and the xG is 0.2 each then don't bother.

 I got free tickets and went last night; it was a great game. Let me say some of the football Macarthur played was brilliant, Germain the ***** is such a good players and Drew surely can't be far off a socceroos callup, he's very direct and great running with the ball. 

Macarthur if they can play like that each week, are a threat for the title.

They are inconsistent. They will win against Jets and then lose to Nix a week apart.

But how does that enhance my enjoyment? Surely I can make my own decisions about who's on top.

Yep concur but that peak yday particularly in the first half was as dominant as I've seen a team this season.

I do see that number but my immediate thought is usually "not that fooking xG shyte again", then it's usually backed up by the commentator who can't think of anything more original to say.

I'm happy to consume actual facts such as goals, goal attempts, corners, saves, cards and even percentage of possession. Anything else if usually frivolous
