3 Goal Comeback Wins In Adelaide

Very good display, I don't why I had this feeling that Adelaide were going to **** up their 2-0 lead but they did anyway.

Scicluna is quality, my MOTM, Bonnetig looked a bit a cagey at the start but grew confidence in the game, Sapsford is one talented player, he's giving defenders nightmare with his pressing, and finally, Clisby actually had a good game.

My only negative is Milanovic, he needs to stop his ball hogging because he had ruined a few chances in the game by not passing the ball to players who were open or were in good spaces.

5 yellows to Cleur, does that mean suspended? Probably wouldn’t back up anyways.

scicluna, top player, but that looked like an ACL done to me? I hope not

Yeah, 5th and it's a suspension. He'll miss the New Year's day game.

Better do a yellow card tally while we're at it:

Cleur: 5 (will miss the game vs Cows)
Milanovic: 3
Borello: 3
Pantazopoulos: 2
Kraev: 1
Scicluna: 1
Hammond: 1

Tonight's ref (Daniel Cook) couldn't even run a chook raffle let alone officiate a game, it was dreadful near the end. Plus, the fouls count was a bit ridiculous. Adelaide 3 to Wanderers 12.

That was a proper win
The first one I can remember for a while.
There was a bit of soul and spirit in that team tonight.

I thought we were much better against the Nix.
Played well and won well.
But you don't know how good the Nix are.

Adelaide are a good team.

But we were better tonight.

Oh and I couldn't resist a lazy tenner at $4.50.
That'll nearly get be a decent slab tomorrow.

That defence of their's is leaky. The biggest turning point was Antonsson goal before half time because mentally Adelaide went "oh no we can't let this slip again". The stats actually showed that Wanderers up in shots and possession until Kraev scored the winner and even then we had a few moments to get a 4th.

Adelaide were unable to get into our box until they were losing. By which time it was too late for them.

Big props again on Bonetig tackle on Pierias. That tackle came a minute before Borello equalised and it was a perfect tackle.

Looks like Scicluna a d Cleur both out for a while.  Staj hinted to serious knee injury for Dylan. Said the reason for his red was walking over to see if he was okay because people were gathered around him and the opposition bench were calling him a cheat... Staj walked over to check on his welfare and was accused of being in the opposition area...

Yes Ribery is coming but for next season, and will play CB

Crazy night…..if we can only find a way to control games and defend better, we would kill it…….

But on a night like tonight anything seems possible…. @Unlimited…over to you….

I went back to the hostel and went to sleep - no Crazy Horse for me

A lot of sombre Adelaide fans but really, as that one ESFC derby chant once said: “You ****ed it up: 2-0”

That said, I didn’t even cheer our first goal because of the way we were playing. I was sure they’d make it 3-1.

Luckily, Staj seems to have shoved a rocket in their collective butt at half time to avoid a derby brain fade. To make it 2-3 in front of the away support was special.

Does it make up for the 2016 Grand Final and the Australia Cup match I also attended in Adelaide - both losses? Not really, but wow last night was special

Damn it. So who's next in line to replace Sciculina?

Never believe the croatian mind game bullshit. When the medical reports come back mid week, then I'll believe it.

The replacements are relatively simple I suspect. In comes Jesse Cameron and Osacar Priestman. The depth issue become difficult now though.

Something about playing Adelaide away 27th December...

27th December 2019....drama and 3 - 2 to us

27th December 2024 drama and 3 - 2 to us...

It's genuinely not just the goals, and our defense is always a worry, but, i have actually enjoyed watching us the last two weeks. All the more encouraging cos we shook up the structure and it was still entertaining. Passing and combos going forward are slick (for the aleague) and have intent. Players taking on defenders instead of shitting a brick and passing back every time. Confidence has been bred - and it's also showing in going for second balls, interceptions, tackles in the attacking half. Like someone else said, sign a solid defender and we will be in a good spot. Bit worried by the injuries and i worry about losing milanovic and/or sapsford. That's down to the club to hold firm, ffs, but that's not likely is it. Stability in the squad? What's that?

Got to agree here gets a one track mentality when he receives possession sometimes and has missed some good opportunities, the other thing is when he does give the ball away he does not track back and that infuriates me, jogging back after losing possession looks so bad when it happens, compare to Borello who chases down like his life depends on making up for his error.  The counter point to this though is if he did chase back and did look for other options, he wouldn't be in the A League because he has some serious talent as well and if he can sort that out will be in Europe very soon.

It didn't look good though. He was limping off. I don't see why he would need to play mind games in this situation.

Serious bummer if true. He did finish the game though didn’t he? Can live in hope.

Also what is it about teams going 2-0 up and then giving it away? Reckon 2-0 is the worst scoreline coz it’s no-man’s land. 1-0 you can’t be comfortable and 3-0 you prob can but far out 2-0 seems to mess with players heads.

It was a positive win for a number of reasons but how the **** we only received 3 freekicks and conceded 12 in a game where at times the possession stat was 70/30 our way was a debacle.  The local Adelaide born and Adelaide NPL ref just made sure that he never gets another Adeliade game again, he was a ******* joke and I dont mind poor decision making both ways but this was not that, it was just one sided refereeing.

Adelaide sparked a mini melee by booting a second ball into the Wanderers dug out. T

rying to remember what this reminded me of, it was Argentina v Netherlands in the recent World Cup, that sparked up big time
