It also looks like he's pretty clearly icing a knock in that photo, which might have something to do with why he came off at half time.

Yes well spotted. My wishful thinking got the better of me.

I wouldn't trust anything from that account. It posts stale gossip or info already out in public to pretend to be "in the know", along with insane parody/joke tweets.

Yes that site is a parody. Just not an amusing one.

I've seen enough.

Out.

I said from the start that it wasn't an inspiring choice but I'd give him time but agree. He's not shown enough to justify the appointment.

Mediocrity personified.

I’m not one for burning through managers but I’d be giving Staj the flick asap and getting Arnie in before he ends up somewhere. I still stand firm in my belief that Arnie is the only manager that can turn us around. It’s getting to a point now where the damage is irreversible, the club is in a death spiral

I wonder if Arnie would even come I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

I’m with Mack seen enough but I have zero faith in wsw leadership being able to attract a quality coach.

id rather us run a competition that someone on the forum gets to take over… at least it will make for entertaining forum activity!

If only he reached the heights of mediocre

I agree mack. He’s got to go. Tactically inept in the men’s game. He’s trying to play champagne football with goon quality players.

Is that what he's trying to do? Mate I genuinely can't see what he's trying to do.

He has no game plan, it's play long balls, sidewalls, vertical horizontal backwards and hope you the best.

He's a nice guy but he's cut out for coaching in the men's Game.

Arnie’s long had a fascination with managing WSW one day according to a few people I know who used to work for FFA/APL. Lederer apparently wanted him for a long time as well

Need to move out Staj asap to give a new manager time to salvage the season and also bring in some fresh - ie real - talent in the January window.

But who? I like the idea or Arnie but I doubt he would do it. He would want to preserve his legend status with the Smurfs. Probably means going overseas - maybe one of the Aussies working as assistants?

The one thing that has never been the same for any subsequent manager since Popa left is our facilities. For the majority of his tenure the team trained at the old athletics oval and would often get shafted in favour of school athletics carnivals. They had a pissy little gym under the grandstand and kept the hand me down training gear and jerseys in a shipping container. On game day they played at the old stadium and were often treated like second class citizens behind the Eels. I spent 18 months of uni placement witnessing all of this and marvelled at how they had to value what they had and make the most of very little, the same went with the playing group in a lot of ways too. It was such a galvanising environment and mentality imo and the cherry on top was  the way in which they won the ACL.

Since then, the clubs built a training complex with enough fields to make Bill Gates jealous and play in a brand spanking new stadium. That grind and hustle is gone cause there’s no real need for it, they have everything now. The grass is not greener on this side and I think we are a spoilt club, particularly when it’s very much a competition of haves and have nots. It’s made it very hard for managers to recreate that mentality we originally had. You can’t knock out faculties down and go back to the originals days but if a manager can come in and find a way of artificially creating that grind then that’s when thing go back to how they were imo

I remember the day when some "supporters" put up a sign at training saying "Popa Out"... I vidily remember thinking at the time careful what you wish for.

That Grand Final loss in Adelaide was the last bit of culture that this club had.

Infrastructure and facilities have given us a false sense of hope, but I'm sad to say that I now doubt that we'll ever re-live those first 3 glory years.

We have made decent coaches and decent players look ordinary.

Stajic is a fraud. Get him out.

our defence is getting worse which is saying alot -

if we could shore up our defence - we are a top 6 team - we have the quality in attack and can transition decently

id like to see Christiansen given a chance to work with this squad

Those days were amazing. A community feel. The fans came, the team gave their all in every single game. Win or lose the fans would applaud them for their efforts and the club would reward the fans with heaps of praise.  Nowadays the club seems more like a franchise, with no care about the team or the fans, just sales and money. It’s stale.

Those days might never return but if you are going to try you need to start by bringing in a new chairman who understands the community and a good motivational coach. Skill isn’t a huge requirement in this league, it helps but the quality is so poor that you if you are a semi decent player and try push your body to the limits for 90 minutes you will win more than you lose.

It looks like we’ve finally hit rock bottom(although I thought that 3 years ago). Sub 6000 attendances, poor football and less than 1 point a game. Let’s go back to basics, get the community involved again, have the players visit schools, workplaces, hand out free tickets, partner with the western Sydney NPL clubs instead of competing against them. Bring the jersey prices back down to a reasonable price. Actually start the marquee we brought in. That’s just the start. There’s so much more that should and can be done.

Perth last year 69 goals against. Yep Stajic will sort it

As much as I'm a horrible Stajic critic. He looked terrible at the start of the press conference. I fear he will get added to the long list of people broken by WSW.
