Al Taay is a good one to bring in. Brillante is getting younger so good to build some depth there.

Still think CB is a our big gap.

Does Staj?

with Al-Taay inevitably coming - i have  scary thought

Brillante moves to CB the rest of the season (with Al-Taay and Pelekanos as DM)  - surely this does not happen?

For anyone not impressed with our midseason signings, ESFC just signed Jaush Sotirio for the rest of the year. So it could have been worse.

That's hilarious

******* hell he makes Lachie Whales look like Ronaldo in his prime

I noticed Talay's comment on Patrick Wood. He's not going to get the time he needs to develop in SFC as they have the imports who are a higher level. Therefore they are listening him out to get some game time and develop with a view to the future. Whether this turns out or not, I thought that it might be an interesting way to go for dinner if the talent we are developing, to get A League game time, and come back with more experience - rather than letting them go. Don't know - thoughts?

I do like the honesty of Talay, one thing with him he has shown unlike Corica and Arnold who had little interest in youth (ask Arzani and Tilio) Talay is at least giving guys a chance where possible. Segeric has really come on and with Lolley, Kimala etc around Wood yep sorry buddy but you have been around along enough for Talay to say thanks but no thanks for now.

I think in the examples Mack mentions above it's no brainer for the players if you are going from petrol money to $150K contracts, I don't even think you would be able to keep these players.

I like loan deals in the case of you have young talent who might not be ready yet, in the case of Patrick Wood I think you will find he's just not good enough. I don't see the point to do a loan deal for blokes like him who have had ample time at the club and NOT taken the chance.

Injury replacement for Costa? Can't see how he's going to get a start given the attacking talents they already have.

Ipswich Town want to release Massimo Luongo.

The games he has played this season he has been playing a defensive midfield role.

Anyone know of an A-League club, crying out for an Aussie DM?

Wood is getting loaned out because he's 22 years old and his performances have gone backward in the last 2 years. SFC want him out of the club to get back his squad/salary cap. Maybe also get some of his wages back by Perth paying them. They would get mutual with him if they could but the player is not going to rip up his contract a year and a half early because his career would be dead.

He could probably still do a decent job in the Championship

Perth might need an injury replacement for Nick Pennington.

Another player singed Staj said.

Apart from Gersbach and Carluccio.

I believe it's Mohamed Al-Taay ... defensive midfielder ... who came through Wanderers youth system.  He's an Iraqi International and his last club was the Nix.

He's got a good motor and a bit of mongrel.

Seems like Thomas Deng has signed for Yokohama FC

Yea it was strongly rumored he had a lot of options in Japan. I think Jubilo Iwata Hutchinson team was prime candidate at first. But if its Yokohama F Marinos forget it, no one outside of the top half of J-league can match their budget.

Also looks like the club is throwing everything they have at bringing Degenek, however he is strongly linked to another Serbian club. Even had Ninkovic contact Degenek to bring him to the club.

It would be surprising if we can’t match a salary package from a Serbian club, perhaps he likes living there but if it’s just financial package we would match easy

Socceroos aspirations as well. He made that clear in the first article we were rumored to be chasing him. With Circati and Souttar injury he has a real chance of making it back into the team. A-league if you don't make finals you have about 6 weeks of no games until June and then risk of not featuring in August-October Internationals.

If he comes here it will be over for his Socceroos career. There are too many CBs overseas playing regularly, even Hayden Mathews is yet another one that is leaving A-league for Portsmouth this window. Triantis and Jack Irdedale at Hibs. So for Socceroos even if its Serbian league it increases his chances playing Socceroos because he is playing regularly.
