Hold on to Sapsford and Mila, throw in a fit Scicluna, and we will have the most talented squad of young domestic players the AL has ever seen. We won’t have to worry much about hit and miss imports next season.

I won't be disappointed Milanovic leaves at the end of this season. If a club comes in for him with a fee he can go. We just need to hold onto both Sapsford and Hammond where both of their contract finishes up at the end of this season.

DON'T DROP CLISBY SAYS STRINGER IN CLISBY HATE TURNAROUND SHOCK

I'll be disappointed he's ace, a bit greedy and shoots when he could pass, but I don't mind that, he scores goals and makes stuff happen. That said though Sapsford is where it is at. He's ace (as is Hammond).

If he were to go it would allow Hammond to be promoted to first team. Its been a good season for him but as expected been in and out of the starting 11 but making every minute count. Badolato would also be in contention for a similar season to Hammond an option from the bench sometime rotating into the starting line up.

Still lots to happen but thats where the plan could go. Sapsford though is the main priority because the way he is playing O/S clubs will be looking to snap him up.

We could do FAR worse than Milanovic. Again, major consistency issue and needs to learn to play early options. But there have been teams who have played entire seasons with Connor Freaking Pain and still managed to win silverware

Yeah we always have to remember it's the a-league. It's so rare for a side to have a starting 11 without issues in some positions.Impossible even.

Milanovic frustrates me too, but he's young and there's at least a small chance still he will not follow the Arzani path of always remaining a selfish git. But look at it - he's in the top scorers list in the league, despite all the frustrations, and we have what, the 2nd best goal difference, despite all the opportunities he wastes. He is a big part of the dynamic because he takes players on and they have to deal with it. If he wasn't doing that there'd be fewer failures because there'd be fewer opportunities. And teams would feel much more comfortable defending against us, meaning that they'd mess up less, even if it's not Milanovic directly contributing in the end. i know what i'd prefer.

And look at the last time we won domestic silverware. Dino Kresinger, what was it, 1 goal in the regular season, I think. He created problems though, that was the point of him.

If there was a genuine replacement that was an upgrade and ready to go, in form, and we could get him early in the peace with a strong chance of firing, I'm not going to say no. But what actually happens in the a-league - and with us especially - is we get rid of a player and replace them with someone who has just as many frustrations. But they have to "gel" or whatever all over again. Keep the band together I say.

TLDR; we are getting Kresinger back?!:flag:

Anyone know how Younis is going at PSV? I wonder if we can get him back if he's not doing as good at PSV as they hoped for.

Aside from this I got nothing. And looks like its been an "ok" season from Younis. But the team isn't doing too good on table.

But individually its not much different to what Segicic was doing in his loan last season at the same level.

Do you think people would be so positive about him if we hadn't have won stuff that season.

Sure I dig him and he basically the definition of cult hero centre forward but can't help feeling if he had that scoring record and basically just charging round thing in any post Popa side we'd have been on his back.

Oh we definitely would have haha.

But why were they winning? Kresinger played a role in that, drawing defenders etc and creating space for Bridge and hersi or whatever.

My point was milanovic is a bit the same - defenders have to deal with him, because in his case, of what he is capable of, that means that he'll draw them and then there's space elsewhere. (notwithstanding its frustrating when he does that but doesn't pass).

I would argue it works the other way as well. As in, if we were losing games and Milanovic had 8 goals at this stage in the season, we'd be saying "imagine how good we'd be if we had anyone supporting milanovic".

Saint Dino! :shok: never...

There was supposed to be a statue of him at Parra. You can just imagine that the heel  part would be rubbed to shiny brass.
