According to Transfermarkt, the only reputable Aussie defenders left as free agents are Brad Smith and Josh Laws. Given we already signed a LB, if we’re still looking to bring in a player I wonder if Laws is the one?

Also 1 Visa spot open with EU windows now closed, could the club potentially do a loan deal for a visa player who has fallen out of favour with their eu club

That is exactly the kind of player to stay well clear off at this point in time. Had a knee injury, played one game since then, in October.

By the time he's gotten over the jet lag, is used to the temperatures and regained match fitness it would be Xmas. 

But maybe we'll read soon that was are in negotiations with a former Norwegian international.

The Uzbeki CDM player we were going for in January didn't work out he went somewhere else on loan.

Staj has mentioned bringing one more player in so they must be looking Foreign. Must be on loan though with transfer markets closed. Unless there is a diamond that's still a free agent.

Why never believe until official by the club. Some former journos like Gatty if he says you have higher belief its true transfer or signing to occur

I think he had a year to go with us. Perhaps the club agreed to let him go on the priviso he didn't play elsewhere.

Contract law in most western countries means clubs/companies cant force players to keep working. But yes, as you said, be prepared for the club to take full advantage fo their recourse if a player reactivates

That list I generated doesn't exclude retired players, only inactive. Marcelos agent just hasnt been bothered to login and click the 'inactive' box. TFM deactivates profiles where the agent hasnt logged in for 24 months when the players isnt under contract. If the player doesnt have an agent, then the player themselves has to login and do it

The football score apps show how out of date some of those databases are.

If you go to Fotmob and look up our squad it still lists players like Marcelo, Rhys Williams, Tongyik, Grdic, Amalfitano, Bozanic, Ninkovic, Ibini, and Yuel.

Transfermarkt was the same for a while as it had Tongyik still playing for us for a while. I put it in a profile correction twice saying he is a free agent. They denied it the first time. 

It's worst for the National Premier League clubs. I'm constantly lodging in profile corrections to make sure it is accurate.

I think we  used to use  Formob for our recruitment 

Some of our overseas players must have been listed as active, when their performance for us highlighted the error

Hey Stringer check out the the second goal from Macarthur v Western united, Jakolis got a great cross from the right side near the corner beat 2 players and scored good goal except one glaring thing  Tate Russell was the one that sent the cross over from the right side right into his own penalty area , I have to humble pie on this bloke

The club should prioritise giving Sapsford a long term deal ASAP. We haven’t had a forward with this much promise and actually DELIVER on it in years.

100%. Found his consistency, but the game he played in the derby shows his best is yet to come. There is a damn good player in there.

Well he was the last decent Aussie left for Free transfer at CB. Looks like injury had him on the outer at Grasshoppers where Irankunda is currently playing. Lets hope its an upgrade on Jeong.
