Not convinced about Vine at this level.  Has pace in space but lacks control. No high outlet to hold the ball and get is moving. Grant not as effective as Carpenter, either.

Vine might rue not going overseas last season as her game at this level hasn't improved. Unfortunately Hunt had a bit of a shocker too.

The Chinese constantly picked Vine's pockets for the whole time she was on the pitch.

Hunt hardly played for the last 3 months as she was out with a stress fracture in one of her feet.

The whole first half was crap. Clare Wheeler was continually outplayed. No way she is going to Paris

I get that Carpenter and Raso are a threat down the right but it’s a good thing Fowler is wearing gloves because we’re completely ignoring her on the left side.

Was always going to be a bit disjointed with the mixed up squad but better in the second half.

Vine didn’t get stuck in the corner so often when playing centrally, and that through ball for Raso was class. I also liked that our only player shorter than the Chinese squad scored a header.

We had this problem before with not being able to fully utilise Fowler. We don't seem to know how to optimise her abilities in the team. Vine 2nd half as striker was really good though gives something different.

Fowler would do better if Van Egmond wasn't in the line-up. A fit Foord for Van Egmond will see a more balanced line-up. Also need Gorry back too
