From memory the posters at the Wanders 5s had WWC Matildas who played for WSW

Is a strange celebration given the majority of them played 1 season then left. Going overseas is of course the next carear step, so put them aside. But many just went to a different A League club. It doesn't make great reading.

It seems WSW Women had a preseason match against Newcastle Jets today.

But apparently no new coach bounce for us - still no win or goals scored for us.

Was nice weather and the match was actually promoted / open to football fans - so I headed up the Coast yesterday, to watch a pre-season match between the Women's CCM and the Nix.

Was good to see some professional sides playing.

Amy Harrison been officially made captain of the Wanderers Women's team this season. Keen for the derby, but I know Smurfettes are gonna melt us. This is just such poor build up by the club going into the season.

AFL aren't stupid are they. Big A League W opening planned Syd v Us. AFLW out at kids school handing out invites to Swans Women's game at Henson Park. 

Hipster beer and food on the hill.. or can go to Allianz and pay 20 for a burger that is somehow both under cooked and over cooked at the same time 

Apparently both Swans women and GWS women are using Henson Park as a home ground to cash in on the inner west hipster parents

Absolutely.  Not even just the footballers - cricket (and other sports) too!

There needs to be more research and more money into ACL injuries in women, the players need to wear football boots specifically made for women's feet (I believe Olivia Price does!), etc.

Yea apparently its really common but there is no data in sport science regarding ACL injuries in female athletes for football. All the physio and surgeons are literally working from scratch as to how to best manage the injury. It will be more and more common now its gone professional until sport science catches up.

Very interesting!

Shows that our women's team is absolutely dire, turns out our all-time top scorer is one Catherine Cannuli with 8. A record that has stood for almost nine years. Bizarre.

We also only have two players with more than 50 appearances. Other than Mariners and Phoenix (who have only played 2 seasons) or Western United (only played 1), every other club has at least 7...

Yes, Andrew Howe and his season guides are a highlight of the seasons!!  I absolutely love the stats side of it all... a shame the stats on Wanderers are so damn dire though.!

The other stat that stood out to me was the all time head to head records. Every other team has a superior head to head record against at least one other team except for us. Every club has won more games than they've lost against us, except for Adelaide and Newcastle (who have the same number of wins and losses, but a better goal difference), and Wellington and WU, who have the same wins, losses, and goal difference (although Wellington changed that yesterday).
