Suncorp would be silly. There is talk that if City make it they might magically get the home final given they were shafted with the GF last season.

Frustrating. I wouldn't say Brisbane is average. Pre season form for Brisbane has been interesting. Plus the way they demolished Sydney United in the previous round was an indication something had changed. Because last season they struggled against Sydney United and had a blunt attack. Prior to our game they also romped Western United, so Aloisi changed something in their attack to make things happen. And again I put the loss on Rudan. If it the game was at home Rudan takes the initiative, in this game he was happy to surrender the ball from the get go and I don't get why we play like that in away games. sonar, ItchyNek, StringerBellend and 1 other 4

mack Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Smurfs vs Roar final. They're gonna play it at Parramatta again. There's a concert in Moore Park on the date of the final. edit - Was wrong, that concert is at Homebush. Moore Park is open.

mack Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Suncorp will be too large/costly, the rest of the stadiums in Brisbane are too small. Play at Moore Park and maybe get 20k.

(Even though it IS a Final - they can't rely on that alone to get people to attend)
WHACKO Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Leichhardt or Kogarah should be big enough to hold it.

SBW Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 They could have played the final in either Gold Coast or Townsville
mack Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 13 minutes ago, SBW said: They could have played the final in either Gold Coast or Townsville Townsville is further away from Brisbane than Brisbane is from Sydney. And not by a small amount either. Gold Coast obviously the only place that would work, but Suncorp being out is enough of an excuse for the FA to play it in Sydney. And of course there's no reason why Brisbane Roar have to get to host the final anyway. Obviously they should just have a draw done after the semi-final where one pair of semi-finalists gets drawn as the host for whoever wins. But the FA see the final as their opportunity to make money so aren't going to do that.
Sithslayer1991 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Yea without alternatives to Suncorp in Brisbane this was always the likely outcome. FFA wants the cash so Gold Coast is out as no guarantees it could sell out or that Brisbane supporters would travel the 45 minutes it is down the road.

Gold Coast's Cbus Stadium/Robina Stadium could of been ideal. It's capacity is around 27k, I don't think they'll get anymore than that at the game. Unlimited 1

With 2 NRL teams in Brisbane you would think a 2nd 15-20,000 rectangular stadium in Brisbane is on the cards.

BoyFromTheWest Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Suprise omission is Jack Rodwell. It with hammy. Who'd have thought he'd be injured??
BoyFromTheWest Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I reckon that must have been close to a red Girdwood-Reich. Possibly lucky there was no VAR. Edinburgh 1
