Sithslayer1991 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Never fall in love with a loan player. The loan player: I hope we can get him permanent. ItchyNek, Potkorok and Unlimited 3
mack Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 I wonder if his loan was for a full year rather than that just 6 months. The Norway league runs from April to December unlike most of the other competitions in Europe that run from roughly August through to May so players in Norway have their contracts run on the calendar year 1 Jan to 31 Dec instead of typical European (and A-League) July 1 to June 30. His contract expires at the end of the year and we'd be able to offer him a contract in July, he'd stay 'on loan' technically for the first part of the season until the transfer window opens in January then he could join properly. If it was just a 6 month loan then he would go back to his parent club in July, then could sign a deal with us and wait for January to return so he'd miss pre-season and the first 10 games give or take a few. Or we might need to fork over some cash for a transfer fee to get him back for the start of the season. It probably wouldn't be that much because it'll only be for the last 6 months of his Norway contract. If Lederer really wants to "mark his words" and Layouni continues his form, doesn't get hurt and gets us into the Grand Final then Lederer will almost be forced to get out the chequebook. Edit - the WSW twitter said it was until the end of the season so I'm guessing it was just a 6 month deal so we'd need to pay out the transfer to keep him and have him play. Unless he got the other club to agree to a release.
Paul01 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Amor not in the starting XI for the Tunisia v Libya game. On the subs bench. Tunisia currently up 1-0.

Sithslayer1991 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Soooo this is from FTBL. The article was on Morgan Schneiderlin in this was the last bit on the article. I be mega pissed if he goes to another A-league team The other, Tunisian international Amor Layouni, has made it clear he won't return to his Norwegian parent club Valerenga after a dispute with club bosses. Layouni's representatives are understood to have been gauging interest in his services in Australia but has yet to confirm whether his future is at the Wanderers.
mack Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 Since we only signed him on a 6 month loan contract he's not a WSW player any more, he should probably be in ex-players now. Norway club contracts run through the calendar year, which means his Valerenga contract still has the rest 2023 to go. They could require him to report back to Norway to finish the 2nd half of the season in July. They aren't required to let him go either, they can ask for a transfer fee, block any request for a free transfer and fine him if he doesn't show up. WSW's issues now are because of that contract length, we might be able to sign him on a free transfer but: He isn't allowed by FIFA statutes to agree to a new contract until 6 months before it expires (which isn't until July 1). Any other club could come along and usurp our offer at any time before he signs a contract. If he goes that route he can't officially join that club until January and would still be a Valerenga player until Jan 1st. That means no pre-season at all. Unless Valerenga agree to void his contract entirely or we pay a transfer fee. They could limit where he moves by refusing to void the contract, not playing him and forcing him to sit out for 7 months. If he won't report to the club to train they would be the ones "in the right" so to speak as well, it's not like Australia where contracts mean nothing to players. Ask any interested clubs to pay a transfer fee, or only let him go on another loan deal, or only allowing him to leave for specific clubs for free. They could simply say "no thanks, you screwed us by agitating him to leave, we're not going to loan or sell him to you". Or they say "yeah we'll sell him, 3 million Euros thanks." He might be called up for Tunisia's Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which would mean he misses a month's worth of games from early Jan to middle of Feb, on top of missing all the matches in the first half of the season + pre-season. If he were younger, say 26 or 27 or even 28, the club might think he's worth missing him for 15 games in order to have him for the 2nd half of that season + 2 or 3 more years. But he's going to be 31 by the time the season starts. It's a lot of hassle for an older player who had a bright start but faded out before going missing (along with the rest of the team) in the Derby final.
GunnerWanderer Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 In his defence in the semi he got **** all ball, if you ask me is he good enough sit out the African cup… but that’s if we can agree to have him here for start of season. it seems unlikely anyway but let’s not kid ourselves as much as we praise borello, Hoff, Mrcela and Marcelo for their efforts if there was one player who came in and seem to bring it all together it was him. He would be a massive loss, in terms of imports on the attacking front he’s probably the best we had since castelan/Reira - he was a real difference maker. Do what we have too and give this boy a new life and he can give us 3 good years and light the league up. Carns, sonar, mack and 2 others 5
WHACKO Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Yes an actual player you want to go the game and see play. Haven't had that for many a year, with maybe Duke being the exception. Horus 1
