I mean, thats kind of the point.... and you try to frame that like its a bad thing. The guy won the biggest, shiniest piece of silverware australia is ever going to win. He then got ignored by the NT for 6 years, but still came back to put some minute in when he was called on. Then when he says "I Have something I want to accomplish at club level", the response is "stay far away". Cant blame him if he does....

Hmmmm.

Weren't they in League 1 at the time?

Championship. Arnold recalled him for friendlies and the first qualifiers in the 2nd round last year and had one off the bench appearance in those qualifiers.

I hope Foxe. I really don't want Rudan anywhere near the national team.

Believe it or not (and I had to check) it was January 2024.

Yeah, must admit I thought it was last year sometime. Problem now for Luongo and Burgess is that they are not getting a lot of game time.

U20 Qualification

Badalato scored against Palestine

There is definitely a player in there, I thought he was decent last season then for some reason we never saw him again.

Foxe and Okon take the assistant roles from René Meulensteen and Luke Wilkshire. Juric takes the goalkeeping coach role from John Crawley.

No spot for Rudan in Popa's setup.

Big fan of Okon great to see him involved and Foxey seems content behind the scenes need a few selfless people like him, fresh start is best for all I assume.

Also a big fan of Okon. He's been seriously short changed not getting another shot when guys like Rudan persisted in hanging aorund the league for 5 years.

Very good hirings imo

Okon got 2 years at the Mariners and became the worst A-League coach with 40+ games in charge.

Also possible he gave up on going for a top job and decided to settle for staying in assistant coach roles.

So basically he just selected his Melbourne Victory players

Makes sense though. He has maybe 2 training sessions at best before the China game. He needs players who already know his system. Lets be real here we need a minimum 4 points to keep top 2 alive. Or even 3rd place.

The only surprise is Behich is still there. So Callum Elder must be really crap that he still doesn't het another look in. And Davidson I don't know but maybe Behich really is still the go to guy for LB.

This also again explain Robertson's absence. With Mcgree and Hrustic back and Luongo returning Robertson is still behind all 3. popa needs a win maybe 2 to keep national team's top 2 chances alive

Luongo back in the squad. Potential debut for Velupillay.

Had a feeling Luongo might come back. Always had a hunch there was bad blood with Arnie.

Velupillay... if he gets game time, we don't take 3 points from China.

I get Popa has always been defence first, but we aren’t scoring goals so he starts with a back five at home?
