sonar Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Welcome and good luck...No pressure.....just score a shitload of goals ok. ! THEWANDERERSPOST, JackDoff, Sithslayer1991 and 3 others 4 2
MathyouWSW Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I posted it in the squad thread but I'll post it here as well:
Sithslayer1991 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Well we can all agree so far Yengi performances for us have been up and down. For the derby he definitely lifts and we see that type of player he can be. But then for other games he just disappears. Well looks like he may look at a psychologist to get his mind right for games to finally get that consistency. No doubt Rudan has had a word with him to get him to that next level. https://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/8129631/mind-games-wanderers-yengi-targeting-consistency/ sonar 1
MathyouWSW Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 (edited) I hope the lad doesn't suffer from mental health issues, if so...I feel sorry for him. I wouldn't classify him as one of our best player. However, he's willing to give it a shot every game and hopefully his form can continue how it is when he plays in the derbies. That's the type of player Yengi needs to be each week. I guess he just need motivation each week from Rudan and the rest of the squad and based off the performances this season, it seems the team is already doing that. Paul01 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 There are some people who have high-highs followed by low-lows. I hope he isn't one of those as so many young people are today. At least next game, he will hopefully highly motivated against his old team and coach. ItchyNek, Sithslayer1991, sonar and 3 others 6
mack Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 Paid transfer to England for Portsmouth. Not entirely sure what they see but thanks for the cash and the Derby goals! GunnerWanderer, Carns, EmMac and 3 others 3 3
GunnerWanderer Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 That first derby goal was one of the best euphoria moments we had in years Good luck Yengi hope I’m wrong but I assume I see you at the Jets next season! Sithslayer1991, THEWANDERERSPOST, sonar and 1 other 3 1
StringerBellend Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 The great thing with Yengi is defenders didn't know what he was going to do, the bad thing was neither did he Nathg, sonar, Sithslayer1991 and 4 others 7
Sithslayer1991 Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Good move overall though. Wanderers got a transfer, Yengi gets a move overseas and Portsmouth paid almost nothing for him, so even if he succeeds its profit. If he fails then its ok because they haven't lost much and they are on budget.
andypk Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Scored a hat-trick on his debut overnight for Pompey in a 9-1 win over Crawley. Was on the pitch 60 mins in a 120 min game. Yengi has just recovered from an ankle injury. StringerBellend, Edinburgh, EmMac and 2 others 5

Sithslayer1991 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 For him its all about staying fit. I mean that has always been his issue. He is so strong that it hardly matters that he touch is poor because you as the team just need to make sure he is facing forward so that he bulldozes the opposition. If he back is to the goal them he is strong enough to get get around them. Its all about consistency and Pompey using him correctly. StringerBellend and Edinburgh 2
MartinTyler Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Many of his attributes are well suited to L1.....however he can't be seen to be lazy as the fans will be on his back andypk 1

mack Posted August 9, 2023 Author Posted August 9, 2023 Scored two against Forest Green Rovers (one tier below them) in a 3-1 win in the League Cup. Penalty, and came in late at the back post to tap-in a corner that everyone else missed. He's now one goal away from equalling his highest seasonal goal tally. After two games. mack Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 He also missed a sitter after a horrible backpass got him into the box about 8 yards out almost in front with no defender. But scored with a good header on the edge of the 6 yard box.
