Paul01 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 And Wanderers v APIA in a friendly Starting XI: Margush (GK), Gordon, Natta, Mourdoukoutas, Cancar, Wilmering, Russell, Troisi, Lopane, Ogawa and Swibel Substitutes: Warshawsky (GK), Carluccio, Badolato, Bertolissio, Pelekanos and Hovar 3 ATB
Paul01 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Smurfs won 1-0 over the Nix Wanderers up 3-0 over APIA. Goal to Wilmering and 2 to Lopane so far. Edinburgh and Wanderboy 2
MathyouWSW Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 3-1, APIA score off a free kick. Really need to work on set-plays.

MathyouWSW Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Finishes 3-1. The club tweeted that's the last pre-season match. I think APIA play in a fortnight's time against Cooma Tigers in their FFA cup tie. Paul01 1
Paul01 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 And meanwhile in Queensland Brisbane Roar lose to a combined NPL team
MathyouWSW Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 I posted it on their own forum. I had a look at the NPL All Stars Squad and it seems the goals were from their own Academy/NPL Players (Keegan Jelacic and Eli Adams). I say promote them if they are out doing the senior squad. How embarrassing. Paul01 1
Davo Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Andrew Howe put together a 400 page season guide. Full of player, club, and league stats (never knew Ziggy Gordon's real name is Zygmunt). Unlimited, mack and Edinburgh 3

Paul01 Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 A-League womens comp starts soon but for context, many games will be double-headers both home or away There are at present 9 double-headers with the planning for Round 8 still up in the air due to the Women's Asian Cup in January 2022
Paul01 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 South Australia shutting borders to NSW, ACT and Victoria Going to affect Adelaide United for at least a week
Paul01 Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 No trip to Melbourne for ALM Wanderers midweek due to FFA scheduling
Paul01 Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Looks like their will be a complete revamp of the A-League Mens competition this week. The only scheduled game this week is the FFA Cup game between the Smurfs and Brisbane wendybr 1

Paul01 Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Now that the season seems to have restarted, the table is interesting Western United on 16 points from 9 games Melbourne Victory on 15 points from 8 games Adelaide on 14 points from 10 games Macarthur on 14 points from 7 games Heartle$$ on 13 points from 9 games Smurfs on 13 points from 10 games Mariners on 9 points from 7 games Wanderers on 9 points from 8 games Newcastle on 8 points from 7 games Brisbane on 8 points from 9 games Perth on 7 points from 7 games Phoenix on 7 points from 7 games. The difference from top to bottom is 9 points. If by some quirk of fate Western United, Macarthur and Heartle$$ all lose plus Adelaide draw or lose with Smurfs then the scenario is that the difference in points from top to bottom will be 8 points with Brisbane in bottom. No team from the bottom half can move into the top 6 with at least 2 wins in their next 2 games. The catch up games will be crucial and their will be multiple midweek games. We have the Mariners and Newcastle in midweek games on the 16th and 23rd February respectively Mariners have the following schedule 10/02 FFA Cup final 13/02 v Perth 16/02 v Wanderers 19/02 v Melb Victory 22/02 v Heartle$$ 26/02 v Adelaide Newcastle have the following schedule 09/02 v Perth 12/02 v Melb Victory 18/02 v Heartle$$ 23/02 v Wanderers 26/02 v Macarthur All the teams on less than 10 games are being asked to play some of their catch ups in February
OntheFence Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Well, maybe its the halfway point in comp.Hard to say with the postponements. City and WU leading the way....seem like they have a bit of a break @ moment. None of this years teams are dominant,Top 6 is a lottery.ALL teams can get there but BrisVegas and WestyWanderers need to start a run of points each week to make up ground. Its the most Open A league yet, I hope another Covid strain doesn't happen,That would be a disaster. A Euro war will do me(NOT). StringerBellend 1
Paul01 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 So where our mathematicians to give us the table using points per game? We need to win multiple matches against teams above us on the current table. We play the following teams unless we get postponed for weather next weekend. 12/03 Macarthur Bullsh1tters (away) 16/03 Adelaide (away) 20/03 Adelaide (home) 27/03 Melb Victory (away)
mack Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Perth jump us if they beat Adelaide in their game happening now. Paul01 1

Still a big climb back for us Adelaide without Mauk looked good against Perth. We now face 4th, 3rd (2 games away and home) and 5th. These games will be tougher than the Derby Have to keep Davilla quiet in the next game is a must. Edinburgh 1

Yep but if we can't beat MacArthur then we don't deserve to be there they are bog average

And its another Croatian coach Derby Last week it was the brothers-in-law derby Popovic vs Milicic AND Rudan vs Corica If we gave a game with weather the way it is, we will Rudan vs Milicic. They will have their enforcer Uskok back from suspension.
pseudonym Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Looks like the Melbourne derby originally scheduled for this Saturday will be postponed
Paul01 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 And now the Smurfs go straight to the ACL Group stage. If Melb Victory can beat Vissel Kobe, then all the games for Melb Victory, Heartle$$ and the Smurfs will have be scheduled in the next 7 weeks. ACL group stage in a bubble

Paul01 Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Asian Champions League is going to very interesting for scheduling for Heartle$$ and the Smurfs as it is in a hub format from mid-April. The third Sydney Derby is scheduled for the 16 April which is on the same day as a group stage ACL game for the Smurfs. Rescheduling incoming since the Smurfs won't give up a home derby and will have to on a weekend. Plus Melb Victory will be playing every 3 to 5 days for the next 3 weeks
