Perfect timing for the APL considering aleague rights negotiations will probably start this year. Following the prem should be number 1 priority.

I think this amalgamation/reduction in streaming services will only get more frequent as we don't have the population to sustain multiple services

Optus still has another 3 years left on the current EPL deal

If the article is accurate and Optus is looking to sell off Optus Sport then Stan will retain the rights of all rights Optus currently has if Stan buys the Optus sport arm. Optus are looking to exit the subscription game entirely.

Optus quitting was inevitable. They got all the benefit they were ever going to get out of Optus Sports, and at some point it was certain a CEO would come along and see it as something they could cut costs & headcount with.

Optus were looking to exit the subscription back in 2021 when they had the EPL rights up for grabs, Paramount+ were in the running for the EPL rights until Optus secured the 6 year deal.
