Melbourne Victory are reportedly in talks to sign former Stuttgart captain Christian Gentner.

Gentler joined union Berlin and will stay in the BL

I am originally from Melbourne, but never liked Victory due to the Kevin Muscat factor.  With Muscat gone and Kurz as the new manager, they have gone up a few levels of classiness in my eyes.

I read somewhere they have been scouting some kid called Alou Kuol. Currently plays as a striker for Goulburn Valley Suns and scored 13 goals in 18 games. He can also play as a winger as well

There's a rumour that Antonis is off to Suwon Bluewings. Taggart currently plays for them.

Not a rumour any more.

He's off to Korea.

They've signed Robbie Kruse for two years:

Kosta won't be missed.

If any HAL club was to sign any established BL1/2 forward everyone would be pretty impressed - with the exception of the wsw FB family perhaps. If that striker is an Aussie then some say "he ain't that good".

Hammer signing for VIC and HAL. VIC will be the main rival for the title. I expect Kurz to whack three quality imports into midfield. Antonis and Valeri won't be missed either.

If his body can hold up, expect him to kill it in the A-League. Many have memories of some of his recent poor performances in a Socceroo’s Jersey but I think it’s been overstated.

Kruse is an upgrade on Kosta so 100% Victory will be happy with this signing. Lets hope he finds his old form back for Socceroos (hopefully he doesn't find it against us) he hasn't been the same since 2015

Kurz brought with him Filip Tapalovic as assistant coach, the man he worked with at Adelaide. Ex Croat international who used to play BL football. Add Carlos Salvachúa as assistant, and Anthony Crea as conditioning coach and you are looking at a top notch coaching group.

The incoming coaching groups at Adelaide and City would suggest that the league is going to be much more professional this season. It will be interesting how the traditional HAL coaches will shape up against them.

If Kurz can keep a lid on his temper and stop verbally abusing everyone within earshot of the sideline, the potential for Victory to transform back into a major force under him is huge.

I'd take Barborouses every time over Kruze. He's stronger, at least as fast, if not faster and has a better eye for goal. His face is also much less punchable.

Seriously though, I love Kostas attitude too, he doesn't sook, gets on with it and has great determination. Kruze on the other hand... I can just see him getting pushed off the ball all day.

So are you saying he just needs not be Kevin Muscat?

Tim Hoogland on the radar, the Kurz factor. Would be quite a catch for them, VIC is going to be the main rival for the premiership.

Trimboli must have his ring hanging out, given that Kurtz doesn't do any recruiting, he just coaches the cattle.

Looks like he is signed to Victory:

I doubt Holtby is heading to the A-League. There was talks he was heading to Rangers and Cardiff City back in March and June respectively.

Then again...I could be wrong. Who knows?

Troisi's status was confirmed by Kurz earlier this month. He's gone.

Kurz said he had turned down a contract to stay.  "We gave him a good offer. He was not happy with the offer (so) then we must be looking for another player," he said.
