Zelinsky Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Rumored to take over from Kurz. If true: good luck with that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gertjan_Verbeek

LeeMarvin Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 He looks scary. I can picture him wearing a cape and playing a church organ or something. JackDoff and EmMac 2

mack Posted July 5, 2019 Author Posted July 5, 2019 Signed Riley McGree. They also paid a transfer fee for him. Must have been on a 3 or 4 year deal with Brugge, who loaned him back to Australia to the Jets then Melbourne City.
MathyouWSW Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Advertiser is reporting they have 28 year old Dutch midfielder Roland Alberg on trial https://www.transfermarkt.com/roland-alberg/profil/spieler/64481 Seems like he barely had game time while in Greece.
MathyouWSW Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 Goodwin is off to Saudi club Al-Wehda. That'll hurt them.

How I wonder. The Adelaide area has produced some good young players over the years, but the club doesn't have a dedicated youth academy do they?

MathyouWSW Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I tried to get their line up as they had a trial match last night against MetroStars. Score being 3-1 to Adelaide United. Two of those goals coming trial players. One was dutch midfielder Roland Alberg (which I mentioned before) who will probably be signed by Veerbak. The other was Kusini Yengi who plays for Adelaide Comets. It does seem they are going to use some youth players this season and maybe some NPL players.
LeeMarvin Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 The starting 11 seems reasonably settled from last year. I see that while WSW used to have the Bacii, AU have the Konstandopouloses (Or should that be Konstandopoulosii?) wendybr 1

MathyouWSW Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) Looks like they're got their striker, 29 year old Norwegian Kristian Fardal Ospeth He didn't have a good season last year. 12 games, 1 goal... https://www.transfermarkt.com/kristian-opseth/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/267701 Edited July 29, 2019 by MathyouWSW Forgot to add the Transfermarkt link...
Paul01 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Adelaide v Westend Fraudsters 0-0 Do we have a Western (United) Fraudsters 2019/2020 thread?
mack Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 Adelaide have signed a Chinese 20 year old who has never played a professional game in his life.
Hughesy Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 That whole situation seems very fishy. I can’t understand why they would do that, particularly consuming a foreign spot in the process...
Pup55 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I can't wait to find out more about this story 😂
Pup55 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Just reading the Adelaide forum and it appears this Chinese kid has been signed to take up a visa spot, but will be training with the youth team when he arrives (he doesn't get to Australia for another month). Imagine if wsw wasted a visa spot like that 😮 Put a line through the reds this season
