MathyouWSW Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 McGarry is off to the Mariners. It was a swap deal between him and Aquilina. Quite disappointing about Cancar. Looked like a promising player that could of had an opportunity to represent the Socceroos at one stage. Would of loved it if he returned to the Wanderers. Still blows my mind that his actual last game for the club was in the NPL squad playing against St.George Saints. It's also the game where the squad did two horrible errors in the back to allow the Saints to score (and Cancar was involved in one). There's already talks that the back four next season at the Jets could be Natta - Jurman - Cancar - Aquilina. sonar, mack, Sithslayer1991 and 1 other 4

mack Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 Cessnock Sportsground would be the logical choice, although it's not in Newcastle proper. With some temp seats at both ends they can probably hit enough of a crowd for the 7k & lower crowds they got to most of their games this past season.
Sithslayer1991 Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 They tend to get over 8000 start of season with fans hopeful the new season will be different before they peeter out as the season goes on. The Jets season seem to go full Spursy 2nd half of the season as they drop off.

Sithslayer1991 Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Abandon ship. Feel for him, honestly given the right resources he could actually make a good team. His first season showed that his recruitment is pretty good but the domestic contingent failed him. This season the whole squad was sub par and choked whenever it got close to top 6. When you are relying on Sotirio and Buhagiar you were always gonna need a miracle to succeed. One I would keep an eye on if his available whenever Rudan leaves.

Yeah, I've really got a soft spot for Papas after watching the episode about him on all access.
Davo Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Knowing the A-League I'm guessing his departure leaves a Zadkovich shaped hole at the Jets that needs filling.
