They probably have some kind of paid scout from a network in south america/brazil.

This guy is a Brazilian Jumpei from looking at his stats, the last two seasons he's only got a handful of goal/assists. Considering how cut price the the squads are this season he might work out just fine.

They won the most historic treble in history by somehow winning a 'treble' that only included two competitions in it.

You would have loved a local DJ on a local station. A league guy and he compared our treble to the Man U treble. But said ours was better as we had a better win ratio.

How can the Mariners have money problems when they have won AFC Cup, participating in the ACL and receiving millions of dollars in transfers over the last 2 seasons?

Not forgetting record average crowds and memberships

Most likely reason is Mike Charlesworth siphoning all the money out of the club by charging the club rent to use the office & COE/training facility.

Well Peil was transparent the rent to the stadium is not favourable especially with average crowds needing to be north of 10,000 to be making profit. I am not sure how profitable their center of excellence has been either for functions etc.  The team runs a minimum salary requirements, transfers and intercontinental prize money. The AFC cup cost them money until the final which they won that got them a little profit. I have no idea with the current arrangements if Asian champions league Elite is more profitable now than a sunk cost as before. But for Peil the distribution was his limit. Its beyond me how the finances work for Central Coast and Newcastle. But Mariners has more going for it, and its still struggles, and has been for 20 years.
