Went to my first Eels game at BWS tonight. Was interesting to see how they use the bars around the ground and brought them closer to the field. Plenty of people standing around the bottom bowl, I stand even firmer by my belief that league fans would absolutely love the safe standing terrace.

The corporate side seemed a lot fuller than the Leeds game as well as in comparison to past eels games that I’ve seen on TV. The fact they were playing Manly probably had a bit to do with that.

The pitch is starting to look pretty ragged - a noticable difference from the Leeds game. Where the goal mouth would be was actually patchy - think like what you’d see at your local playing fields but obviously not as bad. Probably looked a bit worse given that the wind was blowing rubbish all over the field though overall it ain’t looking overly healthy.

I actually thought / noticed that watching a couple of games on TV over the last few weeks. Thank God the rugby league season is all but over.

NRL considering moving the Manly vs Cronulla match to Bankwest stadium after asbestos found at Brookvale

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-09-08/nrl-to-consider-moving-manly-final-because-of-asbestos-concerns/11490486

Can’t help but feel as though the NRL are dining out on this more than what’s probably necessary cause they don’t like the idea of a finals game being played at a suburban ground.

There’s probably traces of asbestos throughout most Sydney neighbourhoods...

Would get a terrible crowd, two of the least travel - happy groups in Sydney.

Ok then, how about Kazakhstan? it's nice there this time of year.

The pool flogs can finally rejoice.

After 2 years of the NSW govt and Parra council bickering over funding, they've finally come to the complex solution of just paying half each.

The new pool is expected to be completed by 2023. It has a full sized pool, a 25m indoor and some other facilities.A circular aquatic centre from above, surrounded by trees.

Looks like 2nd Derby at BankWest will be played on a cow paddock, Waratahs now scheduled in on 28 Feb for a home game there, followed by Elton John concert :xmad:

Don’t forget the rugby tournament just before the season starts 😉

Presuming most of those 628 people who didn’t attend would have been corporates similar to the old Allianz SCG member scenario. Though I could see small pockets of empty seats throughout the game. Would be cool to see 100% capacity pop up one day.

Attendance: 29,372 (Eels Vs Broncos)

Close to full capacity for Bankwest

That is very poor, that game should been a sell out with people waiting outside the ground entry.

If it doesn't have an equivalent water slide to the last one, it's not worth building!

Plus, it'll ruin the views of the railway line!

I've been to a few Eels games this year and I reckon we are gonna score goals in batches. When the Eels get on top, it just seems to lift them so much and demoralise the other team.  It's gonna take a pretty battle-hardened A-league team to ignore the noise when we have them under the pump.

Seeing AMFG score a hatrick past Redmayne would be sweet

I went to two games.

The 58 - 0 demolishing of the Broncos was incredible, yet the only major noise was when tries were scored and a Sivo chant after one of them. There was some good noise during a few periods of good defence, but nothing major.

Us Wanderers fans and the RBB have a seriously massive chance to take this stadium to a level never seen nor heard before in Australian Football, or any sport for that matter.
