EPL & F.A Cup thread (Featuring Ange at Spurs)

What's the point of VAR? Last season Casemiro grabs a player on the collar and gets a straight red after a VAR review, and a three match ban. This morning Felipe grabs directly on the throat and after a 10 second VAR review plays on. That's after spending 10 seconds ignoring a blatant penalty on Rashford, and spending several minutes reviewing every possible angle of the goal to try an find a way to disallow it.

Man Utd vs Liverpool in the FA Cup Qtr finals at the old shithole

They need to put it somewhere that'll fit everyone in. Not some weird little boutique stadium like Anfield.

Never a penalty on Rashford......just enjoy your win

Looks like a pen. No attempt at the ball, shoulder straight into the ribs.

Also if the Liverpool and Arsenal fans on r/soccer are saying it’s a pen it’s probably a pen.

Careless charge. Pen.

If you want to get in front of a player to shield the ball from an attacker then get in front of him. If you want the ball, then get the ball.

Cutting across an attackers line and sticking your shoulder/elbow into him to shove him out of the way & knocking him into another player is a foul.

I'm tired of defenders who constantly obstruct with contact claiming "shoulder to shoulder" makes anything legal (it doesn't), or who run across the line of an attacker from behind to 'accidentally' trip them and think they should get away with it.

I'm in a football group chat with a bunch of mates and I reckon I post that clip at least once a month.

Not sure whether that's a reflection on the teams I support or the amazing versatility of the clip.

I would definitely love to have Gennaro Gattuso at the A-League just for press conferences like this

I get these guys are competitive, but not winning seems to genuinely break his brain.

He's blamed the wind, long grass, dry grass, muddy grass. He complained about City players getting extra rest because half the squad had covid. I remember a United game where we had three players go off with injuries and he blamed that, saying it disrupted their rhythm, as if losing three starting players and using up your subs early wouldn't be a bigger disadvantage.

Liverpool never lose, they are just robbed by some bizarre perceived injustice. They are all mental and Klopp is perfect for them, they lap up his first pumping, goofy runs down the sideline etc. They also love the Roy of the Rovers narrative that somehow Liverpool are competing against the evil spending of City, Chelsea, Utd with no money and a team entirely made up of kids who were boyhood Liverpool fans. Despite the fact that they spent GDP of a midsize country on a goal keeper

Well you can't say he isn't boring during the presser

Gillett at his best !!! 3 goals cancelled for clear and obvious infringement with one taking over 5 mins to call.!

One thing is certain when Gillette goes to the VAR he is always going to find something.

Well Liverpool threw that game. It should have been 4 or 5 before Man U equalised, it was total dominance that 2nd half game was very frustrating. Even extra time at 3-2 they didn't have the legs to keep it up.

Liverpool had the better of it in the second half but United had plenty of big chances in the first half. Rashford put it just wide of the post before the goal, McTominay had the cutback saved after the goal. Small margins there and it's 3-0. Rashford also could have won it in the 94th minute but put it just outside the post. Then there was the counter where McTominay nearly won it a couple of minutes before Amad scored.

Not to mention that MacAllister's goal was straight at Onana but took a deflection away from him, and Elliot's goal was a massive deflection.

Forest deducted 4 points which puts the bottom 3.

Still fancy them to stay up.

I'd be more confident if we hadn't given away that late equaliser at the weekend.
