ColdRock Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I think he deserves a pass. The way he was mirroring some of the comments and opinions of our own fans, some of them on this forum, it opened up so many avenues for discussion. One I spyed was the constant reference "the soccer was great". Can someone quote such a reference being elaborated upon? We are often told "the soccer was great, I had a good time, the noise was good, loved the atmosphere". Has anyone followed that up with analysis of the actual match? Was the game flowing? Were there tactical talking points? Was the passing up to standard? It always seems to be a stand alone swipe at active support and how it's redundant. What did you find "good" about the match? Was it just the fun you had hanging sh1t on Aloisi? Is it because we won? We are constantly told the league is fine without active support, but we rarely hear what pillar of stability is keeping the league healthy should active support be snuffed out all together Erdz 1
mack Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Trolling/Baiting is something that can occasionally be let slide, or let off with warnings until it becomes obvious the person involved isn't going to stop and/or doesn't care about the warnings. But using multiple accounts to do so is a permanent ban. It's two faced & disingenuous, subverting good faith discussion. And if you let people get away with it once they've been exposed, all it does is lead to other users deciding to go down the same path, creating multi accounts to piss people off without putting their 'name' (so to speak) against their words. It's one of the main reasons I quit the fourfourtwo forum, every other user was a multi of another user. It turned an already anarchist, freewheeling and oft times ridiculous forum into a complete waste of time. sonar, Erdz, theguyyouwishyouwere and 5 others 8

GunnerWanderer Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Simon hill ended the fox sports pod by saying if we were to finish 6th and beat one of the melb teams week 1 we would play esfc couldn’t help fantisicisng about a fairytale rbb return it would be brilliant to see an empty active end and then everyone outside the stadium watching on their smartphones haha 😂 maybe then the ffa would finally take notice

Comments from football supporters from other clubs minus victory (they seem to get what we're going through), it's essentially what Happy had been saying. "We're so selfish, we don't care about the team" etc. which I won't go into since it's already been covered here extensively. It seems to me that, despite their perceived stupidity, the FFA have outsmarted active support. A few years ago when they tried to go after all of us at the same time with the banning of supporters, we responded with a united front against them. Now they've learned to pick us off one active group at a time, starting with successfully destroying NT. And while they do this, they set the other supporters against said active groups. As much as I hate the Cove if they were copping the same treatment as us I'd 100% side with them over the ******* FFA as a matter of principle lol. I was very much in support of the NT (as were most of us here on the forum) when they announced that they were ending their organised support over a year ago. However, you check out what other people in the Aleague community are saying and it paints a really grim picture of the future of active support in the country when anything deviates from their notion of what active support should look like. Absolute shills. lloydy136, Erdz, EmMac and 1 other 4

I think the FFA were always trying to kill active support one club at a time, they'd be working on the NT for years. They just got surprised with how strong the reaction from active support as a whole was. They knew when the Cove joined in the boycotts that they were in trouble. They waited a week to see if the group would crack, it didn't, then moved to "fix" the situation. After they "agreed" to what the supporter groups wanted, they hired lawyers to ensure it never happened and to this day I don't believe they'd taken a single step towards what was agreed to. Then came the next crackdown by MVC and the FFA and Vicpol on the NT. Then came us with the FFA and Club and their "new era in active support" bullshit. The clubs can say whatever they like but they prefer the sanitised atmosphere so they can shove advertising down our throats, and will at some point try to introduce "McActive Support" or AFL style club sponsored cheerleaders and the Gallop will get what he wants, an NRL atmosphere where people shut up, clap occasionally and eat their pie without caring about the game on the field. Are you saying people attending a football game don't go along to watch a game of decent football?? That they'd be happy to sit on the sidelines eating shitty stadium food....and would not be dissatisfied if there was nothing of sporting quality to be entertained by, or excited by? Sorry - I don't get what you mean at the end there.
mack Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 It's sanitised, built for television, the crowd at the game is irrelevant, attracting prawn sandwich "theatregoers", while pricing out the working class while playing in monolith stadiums like the SFS and ANZ even for teams who aren't even remotely from those CBD or central sydney locations. pseudonym 1

OK.... so that's on one level - and I don't dispute that that's what the FFA would be more happy with compared to boisterous and hard to manage active groups. Except it isn't going to work at any level if what is happening on the pitch doesn't engage either a stadium audience...or a TV audience. So I do think the final statement in your long post is a bit hyperbolic. But nevermind.
