Go the Eels 👍

Avoided the spoon anyway.

2026 will be the 40th anniversary of the last GF win

Let's face it...it's going well beyond 40 years.

These Panthers chunts don't know how lucky they are.

Thank **** I follow a sport that doesn’t need to continually pipe shyte music into the stadium at every stoppage…it’s getting worse in NRL.

Can Nathan Cleary play centre forward and bring his misses over to the ladies team

VAR would constantly rule his chin offside.

Not sure were to put this....it is a post by a rugby guy .... tis worth reading ..

""""""I read an article a week or so ago that argued big business treated workers as part of an economy rather than part of a society. I found this to be a prescient comment.

This is an increasingly major problem of a capitalist economy/society, whereby too many businesses are putting profits before people. I’ve never understood this attitude. If you look after your people & your processes, then the profits will, or should, take of themselves.

The flip side is that every business has an unwritten social contract with those in its society. In Australia, businesses are allowed to thrive & flourish & make profits because we are a peaceful, obedient, compliant, orderly, trusting society. We provide the environment for capitalism to succeed.

So where’s the payback? Instead we’re subject to a lot of price gouging & profiteering due too many oligopolies across too many industries. But you won’t read that in any big business news outlets, ie, AFR, The Australian, Sky News, etc!

There’s a story that carmaker Henry Ford was one of the architects of the 40 hour working week in the US back in the 1920s. Not that he cared much for the working class.

But he understood that to get the optimum out of his staff, they needed rest & recreation. The families also required time off to go & buy things from other businesses so as to keep the economy well-oiled. Ford was way smarter than the average bear!

Sure, every sport is now professional & must turn a profit. But when you treat your clubs & players like commodities that can be bought & sold at will, then you create problems for yourself.

RA culled WA Force & that failed. It’s now culled Melbourne Rebels & that won’t achieve what they hoped it would. Shrinking your way to success simply doesn’t work as far as I’m aware.
The only successful shrinkage was ARU shortening its title to RA to try & avoid its shame!

But hey, that’s human nature, isn’t it. Greed, self-interest & a liberal dose of stupidity walk hand in hand.

Sadly, none of my ranting will help the Rebels! Good luck to them!!""""
