DeeDee Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Is it completely ridiculous to have interchangeable rail seats and regular seats? Dont know if its a thing but i realise rail seats lock in and out. But why not during offseason (eels) have seats installed and during our season have the 3 lower middle bays railed up? If stadiums can build stands that can move and retract surely its simple to have a built in system where rails can be pushed into the ground and then raised and seats removed or something... StringerBellend Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Why do the eels care about safe standing there will be a spare 15000 or so seats that people can sit in each game for them. If you don't want to stand go sit in one of those. And in reply to the Kop discussion Yes I know other teams have a Kop but that lot have poisoned the name for me. From urban dictionary Kopite A person usually from anywhere but Liverpool i.e. Norway, who supports Liverpool only when they are winning stuff(e.g. the champions league). They are seen to be swinging a shitty scarf over their head, singing a shitty song in a language they dont know, and have a lot of badges pinned to them. There is Bjorn, he has supported Liverpool all his life....well since may 2005. He has his scarf on again, whats that he is singing? sounds like another language to me. He's a kopite. lloydy136, Prydzopolis, braad and 4 others 7
mack Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 Getting safe standing at all now has essentially won the argument and three bays is the right figure to start with. How many seats is semantics and can be increased very easily if required. Alexander, Burztur, Prydzopolis and 4 others 7

Erebus Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Pretty sure the Eels didn't care about the rail seating just as long as when they were used as seats that the bars didn't impede the view for seated fans. Smoggy, Neverbloom, Prydzopolis and 4 others 7

Chief Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Mate, the safe standing seats will be there according to the sports minister, and the Parramatta Eels won't need to see them because they are interchangeable. The actual capacity for Soccer will be slightly bigger. UP THE MIGHTY EELS ! Just remember we've been here since 1947 ! 30500 Edited December 9, 2016 by Chief

The actual capacity for Soccer will be slightly bigger. UP THE MIGHTY EELS ! Just remember we've been here since 1947 ! 30500 Welcome aboard the forum. We have quite a few eels supporters on here who also support the Wanderers. Just for what its worth I have been on a few eels forums just to see the reactions from the League followers and most are happy to see the stadium built. Without BOTH clubs it just wouldn't happen. I was interested to see the reactions about safe standing in particular and some eels supporters have concerns. To tell you the truth I reckon after a couple of seasons you will have eels supporters who also want it. The option will be there. If the supporters don't want it then that's ok their viewing experience will be the same as everyone else in that section of the stadium. I wonder if this will change the mindset of the Parramatta eels in taking all their home matches to the new stadium rather than the ANZ abomination. Just remember we have been here since 2012...............................and we are still here Can the eels live with Red and Black seats in the stadium or should we go for a neutral colour. We'll come back to you Chief. Horus, wendybr, Prydzopolis and 1 other 4
KGee Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Imagine that. Black seats. Eastern stand. 5pm kick off mid January. Prydzopolis 1

Chief Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Heard about the rail seats on 2sm - sports minister also mentioned the stadium won't be finished until mid 2019 at the earliest. Rail seats are interchangeable. Also wouldn't mind a neutral color two tone. Definitely not predominantly red or black. I'm also warming to the Wanderers. Been to one game and the atmosphere was unbelievable. Good job. But fek me, those rail seats look very uncomfortable lol. May as well just have a rail ffs. wendybr, Horus, Neverbloom and 2 others 5
Chief Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Problem is, these rail seats are ok for you guys- you're in in out and back at the leagues club after 90 minutes whilst we don't mind making a day of it and watch a couple of under 20s and reserves. You can't expect a family to be on their feet for three to four hours surley. Have you ever thought about that. Well you should have !! Those seats look like my barbecue plate !! Wanderboy Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I'm actually happy to have an Eels fan here giving his views. Gives us an alternate viewpoint to just the pro football side of things. It's going to be a fantastic stadium regardless of whether there is rail seating or not. Don't forget Chief, the seats can be locked back down for the RL season. There'll be no need for any RL fans to have to stand for 4 or 5 hours, so there's no problem there. I have however found it amusing that the fb warrior Eels fans have been so upset by the pro-mo video, which largely showed the stadium filled with Wanderers fans. Get over it you childish pricks. Hughesy Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Once the eels fans get a taste of being able to stand up like the good old days, getting pissed as parrots and having a laugh, they'll be loving the rail seating. Just a question, do you get 30k to your 20's & reserves? I think you'll find that even if we were to get a minimum of two bays (1,000 rail seats) that you can still get 26,000 there to watch the reserves & 20's whilst sitting in your seats. Let's just say that it was to be expanded to 2,000 even then you could still sit 25,000. With the steep rake you should have no issues with viewing with the rails in front
Neverbloom Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 a quarter of the seats can be red another quarter can be black, another quarter can be yellow and the last quarter could be whatever kind of blue the eels have it would look weird Prydzopolis 1

A neutral colour. Doesn't favour either team then, not any other future tenant also. As long as it isn't the blue that was previously there, and I hate the green of AAMI Park. Yellow is too bright and highlights too many empty seats. I suggest transparent seats. Ground breaking initiative. Prydzopolis, theguyyouwishyouwere and wendybr 3

Paul01 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 With regard to seeing multiple games, since we moved to the summer it would be hard to have NYL and/or W-league and A-League all at the sane venue. plus we don't have the huge TV deal that the NRL have to fund multiple at the moment. The seating will be increasing from about 18000 seats (2000 for corporate seats) to 27000 seats + 1000 interchangeable seats and 3000 corporate. The 1000 safe standing seats shouldn't make a difference. Prydzopolis 1

I believe we should have at least 22 change rooms. Why, well ADP had one for himself while pocketing 4 or so mill whilst at Bling FC, so, if it's good enough for the elite then it's good enough working class. wendybr, Prydzopolis, Horus and 2 others 5
