Parramatta Stadium To Be Rebuilt!

Recommended Posts

Cheers.....so about a 12-14 month planning and approval process. That's pretty quick!!

Some of the studies they did for the $29m project that was stopped part way through will be able to be reworked for the larger stadium so that should reduce the planning/approval time a bit.

Yep, I thought so. The good thing about this project is that it will have the full support of Parramatta City Council. We just have to get passed the FPP.

I still don't like the curved design. Just my opinion but I've always loved box stadiums

I agree. I like my stadiums to have two tiers that curve around the corners. They just seem more intimidating and enclosed.

Can be hard to fit them into a tighter space though, especially in the corners. But, they do provide a good atmosphere... I just thought I'd go with something a little different for this one :)

Looks crazy!

Id probably just like 2 tiers or a longer single tier on both home ends and maybe reduce the free space between seats and roof there to keep the acoustics more intimate and ringing. I do like the gap between the roof on the east and western sides though!

They're all pretty good, but I like the ones with open ends so you can walk straight in and down to the RBB. I know people will say that the noise might escape, but Gazmon has managed to show some that look like that but still have a roof, and if the council / leagues club go ahead with their proposal to turn that car park into an entertainment area, then that will look awesome. It'll also create a great vibe and certainly make Parra Stadium stand out compared to other stadiums in Australia.

As promised some new renderings that have take 4.5 hours this morning...

The first two are daytime ones, apologies for the colour issues on one of the bays in the lower tier. The second two are nighttime renders, just testing some floodlighting. I still need to add seats and a stadium wrap. I'll as much detail as my PC can handle.

You would probably like the Townsville stadium proposal although the plan is to enclose the end if extra capacity is needed.

Woah that might be a too dramatic! But it's cool.

I think I like mine a bit more conservative. Levi's in America (49ers) has the corners open, and Berlin's Olympic stadium has a smaller gap. Something in between the Townsville one and those two.

I just love how the openness adds to the atmosphere of the whole event, you can feel the buzz from outside, and see people congregating when you are in there. Once the ground is full though, it does take away some seating.

Probably my favourite

Couple more of this one, just for you:

This is exactly the stadium I would like to see. It seems to have the following points covered.........

- Plenty of corporates.

- 2 Tiers curving around the ends.

- Good depth to both lower and upper tiers.

- Good roof coverage.

- Nice looking from the outside

I like it!!

That's a great design for that part of the country.

You'd want those breezes.

I like it too, that's probably my favourite of all your designed Gaz. Any chance we could see some more of it?

Just how big will that stadium be? Smith and ARU boss Bill Pulver want it to be more than 60,000 seats.

If it's not, we wonder if Smith and Grant will follow through with their thinly veiled threat to take the NRL grand final and more Origin matches to Brisvegas.

Grant is on the record as saying he thinks ANZ Stadium should basically be bulldozed. Smith thinks about as much, too.

If the article is true then we now know why those in charge of the NRL are pushing so hard for the Allianz stadium to be replaced.

Don't have many more of that one that ya'll seem to like, but I did find these:

I am also rebuilding this one, using some better design principles. I found the original file and there were a lot of little things that irk me about the design (i.e. not built to code, can't fit rugby league, not sure if it fits the plot). I'll also change a few other little things too as well to fit in with the modern design principles that we're seeing in the US.
