Parramatta Stadium To Be Rebuilt!

Recommended Posts

Wonder what kind of design Eels supporters are debating. Anyone got a link ?

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=400938

Not much discussion at all actually.

Maybe they're resigned to the fact none of this wouldn't have happened without our crowd numbers?

BTW, also worked on my new design... so basically everything kinda 'slopes' towards the river. If that makes sense:

Of course they do realise that the seats in the new stadium are going to be red and black with WANDERERS written in big **** off letters as a seat pattern in the east side?

This will be a stadium for WSW that the Eels also happen to play in occasionally........

And I am supposed to be an Eels supporter......... meh lol

Loving these variations and ideas! Mentioning the Eels has got me thinking...

what will the stands be called?

At the moment everything, from the stands to terraces, even the bars, are named after former Eels players. We haven't had enough time to give someone a chance to be a 10 year legend of the club, do we get a westie Socceroo in there?

Covic for his save? Ono?

Dino?

Perhaps 2 for the Eels and 2 for the Wanderers/Australian Football?

One of the newest grounds in the UK with a capacity of around 30,000 is Brighton's Falmer stadium - I quite like it, its a bit different to the usual bland designs

This is one of the grounds Lederer and JT visited on their European tour earlier this year.

A number of delegations visit brighton for ideas for a new stadium. The haters of that ground better get used to it lol

The Price you pay Mongrel Stand. Sensei Ono Wing. Will we have a 'River End'?

Maybe they can change the name of the stands depending on who is playing, and we can have a River End until we feel we have enough legends to cover all the stands.

or we can just call the RBB section the Northgate...

Well, stand names cam be the demographic of those in them?

West stand is full of champagne supping toffs that probably mostly live in the Hills area

East is full of scum like me :P  :D

South stand is families with delinquent children, also sometimes me

North RBB of course

That general rule will remain I guess with the new stadium.

So, I've just come back from a walk around Pirtek (on my lunch break) and through the park. The more I think about it we don't need something square and boxed like Suncorp... we need something that will match the slope from the river up to the ground, the green of the trees around and the open space of the park... so I have an idea :) It's a bit different, but I'll get something up today/tomorrow.

......yet when it comes to my Granny Flat plans........

Your Granny Flat is going to be a 30 000 seater.

tree fiddy more than it is today

Nah, I don't own the gaff, just renting. Shame cause its a sweet little cottage. Here's hoping I'm still there when the Wanderers return to Pirtek in 2019.

Ah, well, I'll have to cherish every home game this season - starting with my first leisurely walk to Pirtek on Sunday for the Wellington match

I would love to see the stadium moved 50m west and see it have a club house that over looks the river.

wonder if your owner would put money towards that

With the new stadium, finals plans/approvals for the training base (with its own licensed club) they currently have no immediate plans to start something in Parramatta. It is long long long term thinking, once everything else is sorted. Our owners are more concerned about making sure that the club is sound financially rather than pouring there own funds into the club to make things happen.

I wonder if the state government & other stakeholders at Parramatta reject safe standing whether the club will chip in the money itself to get it installed & sorted.

The stand names will probably change depending on the use. They'll have a generic name (East, West etc) officially.

Yes I'd like to see us eventually have our own stand & bar names but only after we have seen our club kick on for many more years! Bit early to start names I think....

Workers Stadium.

Liking the direction lol

Maybe build it in 1960's era Soviet style concrete with large standing terraces, throw in a few intimidating statues of some random blokes outside and we will be good to go ;)

Workers Stadium in Beijing, China. :)

So do we know who are the architects are bidding for this project?

I can't find any information about, I heard Hassell architects mentioned a few times.

In regards to shifting the stadium further north-west toward the river. If the stadium falls into the buffer zone (40 metres from the river) you will have another authority to deal with.

It may not be the best solution but relocating Parramatta pool and utilising that area will make planning much easier.
