Parramatta Stadium To Be Rebuilt!

Recommended Posts

Just had a look on google at some more pics of it, I like it.

Yeah, both stands down each side are different, one side is the main stand which is 3 tier, both ends are covered single tier, gives it a unique feel rather than one of those flat pack jobs.

Real opportunity to not only create a functional new stadium with great viewing lines from all seats, but also create an eye catching design, I would almost hope it is a controversial design that splits opinion rather than a bland job.

Very nice stadium. How much heat would come through the glass roofing though?

Heat is not a problem in the UK

You can see it in the first pic you posted, how come they haven't put any seats in the corners? Seems perfect some more seats to boost capacity and it doesn't appear to be too far away from the pitch either.

:D

Looks new agey and horrid. Belch. The seats are also way too far back. That flat green grass pitch thing could work though.

:P Each to their own lol

I would love a set of designs that make half the people say it looks new agey and horrid lol Shows they will be along the right lines for mine :D

In general the average person on the street loves bland, they might think they don't, but they do. Like the Riverside stadium in Middlesbrough that everyone went woooooo and woooooow over at the time when the reality is that it is no more than a flat pack box of a stadium.

So, this is just a really, really quick mockup (literally takes 2-3 mins) of the stand design. Cap under this design would be around 33k...

This is a uniform bowl and fits the site. However, I think it needs a bit more character in the bowl design. I can remove sections and add height to the east/west tiers as there is more room behind. Any ideas?

BTW, I am in no way an architect. Would be nice, but I was the type of teenager who never wanted to do much and as a result never followed that path... however, I do love stadiums and just love mucking around in Sketchup :)

Take a look at Huddersfield Town's ground, can't post a pic at the min. But a good example of two tiered stands with added character.

If you are going to design it, you will need to understand Fifa Technical recommendations and requirements for stadiums :)

My only concerns would be: Put fans/spectators as close as you can put the the pitch and have a decent rake/pitch/rise to the stands whilst being safe (section 6 might help)

Wow.

I'd happily happily give up my wacky ideas about looking in from outside and seeing the cbd and everything if we had this.

It's like the coloseum or something.

It looks like it's largely terraced though, I wonder what the capacity would be with all seats.

Well aware of the FIFA regs. Also have my Stadium Atlas to reference. I've done so many that I almost know the criteria off the top of my head ;)

All good designs. I'm hopeless at this kind of thing, but for me

1: Steep rake

2: Single tier preferred

3: Safe standing

4: Cevapi stand

5: Full strength beer

6: Petting zoo

7: Moat

8:

I've lost my train of thought. Sorry

BTW...

If Wanderland 2.0 actually goes ahead it needs to be prioritised that there is a Bavarian Bier Cafe shop front within the Eastern/Northern stands' precincts.

Pisses me off I can't get a proper stein and schnitzel unless I walk back the 10 minutes to the BBC in Parra itself.

we need beer pipelines installed similar to this :Phttp://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/veltins-arena-s1418/

How good is that review about Schalke's stadium?! Thanks for sharing it.

And how good is that stadium?!

So, I've just come back from a walk around Pirtek (on my lunch break) and through the park. The more I think about it we don't need something square and boxed like Suncorp... we need something that will match the slope from the river up to the ground, the green of the trees around and the open space of the park... so I have an idea :) It's a bit different, but I'll get something up today/tomorrow.

That's rad. Take out the big tunnel right in the middle of the end terrace and it's perfect.

12: a lion to be feed from the petting zoo
