I hear you Alexander, but the issue is that he has had issues in the past & everytime something similar happens (deal terminating, left out of side, etc) the same questions would be asked regarding his discipline or his fit into a side. All it takes is one person to hear something & then it starts to get out of control like a game of Chinese whispers. Yes Perth were cheating the cap & might have been looking to offload him off the wage bill but it's a bit late to do it 3/4 the way during the season & something is just not right about him leaving all of a sudden (they would have cheated the cap no matter if they held him or let him go).

It's great that his agent comes out & says the right things, that's great but it's his actions that will speak louder than words. What happens on the pitch, how he acts on the field & his performances. It's easy to talk but much harder to put it into action.

I was really only responding to the rumours of why he left Perth. Didn't they offload other players at the same time? There were allegations made in the media that they were offloading players to get them under the cap. It was done in order for them to be able to participate in the remaining matches and to help reduce any potential FFA punishment.

Well it was just Mitch that was offloaded but nobody else. The issue I have with this argument is that they cheated no matter what, if Mitch Nichols stayed or left, they played him for 3/4 of the season, it's a bit late to start offloading players. There participation in the rest of the games was paramount so that never would have happened but it may have reduced the punishment, but by much? Not sure.

 

Maybe Mitch felt betrayed, felt there was no point in spending another second at the club as there was nothing to achieve so he left. I guess it's all just rumour & innuendo which never ends well.

Good pick up and will force Popa to play Bridge back on his preferred left forward wing, but will be interesting eere he is played at playmaker no10 or a deeper defensive role or a bench spot depending on our last attacking international midfielder to be signed.

Anyone else think if he had a hipster beard and haircut, oversized shorts and a foreign name. More people would be excited by him?

Nowhere near as cute as Butters.... but I hope he does surprise a few people, and that Guy has to eat his words!     :xnod:

 

I don't think I've ever criticized his talent, once or twice I may have mentioned that

  • He's a whinger
  • He's lazy off the ball 
  • He's one bad pass away from a hissy-fit
  • He's the only one out of Ange's Brisbane Roar youth (Oar, Sarota, Zullo, Nichols) who got left behind
  • He's got a **** attitude
  • He's got a very punchable face
  • He was the next big thing 7 years ago and never made anything of himself
  • He's never played well for a club that wasn't coached by Ange
  • He has stupid hair and a stupid face
  • He has a stupid face with stupid hair

 

but never did I say anything about his talent Wendy.

I always wanted to break his legs when he played for palm beach. Just couldn't keep up with the prick.

 

But he's ours now so hope he does the job.
