Why did he travel to NZ if he wasn't in the match day squad?

 

I'm excited to see him play. And it is good to see some more competition for the number 10.

 

I wonder if he will make an appearance on the bench in Perth.

Most clubs take one backup player on the long away trips in the event there is a late injury like a warm up injury.

Either way, it was an ideal opportunity for him to get acquainted with his new team mates, our processes & methodoligy.

I suspect his contract may be extended to cover 2015 ACL campaign, if he impresses Popa over the next couple of months.

what can u do, young players want to play a-league and if a a-league club comes offering they will take it......plenty of players not getting chances which sickens me and than you have some very **** players who constantly keep getting resigned

My mail concurs with Fatshlob's comments.

 

Being a non European, for him to get a gig at a French club, he has to be better than the locals, in order to warrant a 'Visa' type contract.

 

He can play #6, #8 or #10 & was rated amongst, if not the best player in the NSWPL.

 

Kearyn travelled to NZ with the squad for the Wellington game.

 

His younger brother & cousin are also playing with our youth squad.

 

reckon we might see a few jersey's with his name on the back by the end of the season.

Major trialled with CCM in the preseason match against the Jets (somewhere out in the wilderness), didn't score but I thought he created a few chances and looked rather good hounding the Jets defence. He trialled alongside Poscoliero (also from Blacktown City, right?) who was the one Moss ended up signing.

 

Not sure if he didn't have the space for him and figured he had enough attacking options in the squad, but I thought Major was in with a shot at the contract. Was disappointed not to see him join, partly because I thought he was good quality and partly because the thought of Major and Duke in the line up was too good to pass up.

 

 

Regarding the actual topic at hand, I'm quite excited by the prospect of Baccus, adds to the midfield options. Perhaps contends for the number 6 and 10 spot, so giving competition to Poljak, Trifiro and Bridge/Saba. Likely to be utilised during Popa's fatigue and quality management procedures and could be a versatile option off the bench.

you did see what happened every time the ball wasn't played to someone's feet last night didn't ya? the ball went over the sideline or straight to a roar player.

 

quality player though, hopefully gets an ACL gig (not the gameiro/abbas kind) and a full time contract next year. Has impressed me so far - and lets face it, my opinion matters to popa....

I thought he was pretty poor in the first half but much improved and showed some good stuff while he was on in the second.

He took a while to find his feet but wasn't helped by the lack of cohesion amongst the rest of his team mates. Stick with him and IMO a better option than Trifiro.

Popa is starting to mould his squad for next season and beyond.

I can see baccus being a trifiro replacement, low salary solid.

Evident by baccus coming Into last 5 match day squads.

Did himself justice for his first ALeague start. Expect some decent things from him in the future.

He looks like a good option to have. He's not as defensively strong as Poljak or La Rocca but he looks to go forward a lot more when we have the ball. He's part way between those two and Mooy.
