Excellent atmosphere. We were right down the front to the rbbs left. Was ******* amazing. I had no voice until last night. I have a new recruit, my mates first football match and rates it so much higher than anything else.

his missus was in the cove. Copped a beer shower. Thats karma

Maybe Abbas had something said about his family and then he pulls the racist card out. Little weasal couldn't handle a little banter. He gives but he can't get.

. I heard he was dishing it out to Hersi all game? Edited by Larfn

I remember seeing Jurman give it to Hersi rolling his hands on the side of his head to call him a 'spastic'... now that to me, is as bad as calling someone against their race...

to me the biggest concern is that its yet another game where we scored once and thats it. Not sure what the answer is to this but something's got to change for finals time.

and yet now he is being made the patron saint of fair play, what next, Kevin Muscat getting a ME bank award?

Well he plays for a club who's supporters refer to another club as tards...

Time to pull on the red and black and continue to give it to all the Smurfs who are surely going to come out of the woodwork today at work/uni.

Win or lose.

their tifo was ok...saw their post about how it was the most difficult one they have done blah blah...so was interested to see it, but it was nothing special. they continue to stick with the same image of the city and that its theirs blah blah...c'mon think of something new.

Typical gritty derby, 3 mistakes cost the game. Vedran was immense in goals and so was Sasa at the back for them..apart from that they didnt have many stand out players

Must get a result against Adelaide this week

Abbas is a hot head and a grub for the skill he has. He's gotten into other players' faces in so many games I'm surprised no one has tried to knock him one yet. I think it's been made a big deal because of his Iraqi background, but we'll see what happens.

By the way, anyone else notice Janjetovic spitting in our direction and giving us the sneaky bird? What a cheeky c*** ay? Good thing Popa gave him a little shoulder check or something when he came to clap us.

As for the wankers who throw bottles, you are seen in clear vision throwing them.

As I mentioned in the ATB podcast this past week, Sasa would be their rock in defence, bloke was immense and he will be the one who helps them through, should they not lose their remaining games.

Would like to thank Meggsy for handing us the Premiership on a silver platter. Oh wait, that'd just be a plate on a plate. Whatever.

It's ours.

The game:

Ognenovski was a man mountain for the Smurfs. They should build around his stability & leadership. (This means he's probably already signed with someone else next season)

You guys created very little.

Polenz handball was the funniest thing I ever saw.

Santalab is innocent until proven guilty, and given Abbas' history of " carrying on like a pork chop" I wouldn't be surprised if the remarks were not as offensive as he makes them out to be.

We need to hang on to the 2nd spot now.

You could say that was similar in that of the one that Heart conceded a few weeks back when (I can't remember who) stuck his hand up to appeal a foul and got penalised for a handball?

Some people (including SFC fans) need to stop believing the hype that Abbas is a saint, he is not! I know him personably and know what he is like, I have followed him with the iraqi national team and the Olympic team, certainly no saint!

I'm still waiting on FFA panel and the proof of racism he is claiming before I make up my mind!

They had a tifo?? All i saw was washed out sky blue

lol jks. Good on them for coming to a football match. They sang loud and proud in parts. Not sure wtf they were singing (their wdwsf was just "sydney fc" with pointing according to two cove mates, i assume to make sure the wings remember who to support)

All you people having a go at Abbas should actually think before you say stuff. Word is Santalab started abusing him because of his religion/culture.

If that's true then Abbas was totally within his rights to be furious and Santa should get a lengthy ban.

Abbas is a whinging Kent! Santa is far too placid and everyone knows Abbas is a f#cking Mental case. Pisses me right off because i bet nothing comes to light from all of this, apart from the shitty media... all thanks to Abbas.

OK, my points from the game:

  • Sydney are still behind us on the table and 2-1 in derbies this year, as well as 4-3 on aggregate, nothing to crow about
  • Sydney will hide all their crap these past months on this result, Sydney were not that good, they will sweep their poor play, form and attitude behind them because they won the derby - it will do more harm than good for them in the long run
  • The Ogg monster is a beast, would have him in my side any day, I have some new respect for him too
  • I've been saying it all season, that at some point Covic will cost us a game, he basically did so this week, Tyson surely should get another run soon
  • Sydney's goals were as a result of our mistakes, not them forcing them on us
  • Did anyone else not see the Sydney handball prior to Polenz thinking the rugby league was on
  • Sydney's tifo wasn't too bad, better than the last one
  • The atmosphere watching on TV was amazing, when Sydney do their call & response and we were doing WDYSF was just an assault to the senses
  • Fox don't show enough of the crowd and atmosphere
  • The Santalab-Abbas incident should be dealt with as soon as possible, hear Abbas' complaint, see if there is evidence to back it up and go from there, regardless of what Santalab said or didn't say (or even it was him), there is no need to have Abbas carry on like a spoiled child who had his toys taken away
  • Jurman's hand gestures to Hersi were disrespectful and not called for, as bad as any racial/religious taunting to me
  • The surface at Allianz was abysmal, I hope Sydney didn't actually pay for the use of the 'ground'
  • Frank Farina going on about 'poking eyes out' shows to me he is immature and has lost his own dressing room, have another drink mate
  • Bridge should never take penalties again, it was as obvious to 'blind freddy' that he was going that way
  • Janjetovic should also be sighted for his attitude and conduct
  • This is what a derby is all about though: controversy, up and down football and the greatest atmosphere of them all

These two points.

Sasa is new life into that team.

Vedran is a slimy prick.

I reckon we could learn from them. How about next derby we use the red and blue hands (reversed) trying to grab a kebab. On second thoughts maybe not Ali Abbas would go off yet again.

He (Abbas) has been involved in more flare ups than a WSW match

maybe he's chasing some sort of centrelink payment for when he retires Edited by Larfn

Ognenovski was the diff! Without him they are a messs!

In saying that, if we popped the pen, it would have been a long road back for east sydney.
