Jukes01 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Honestly this in fighting between fans is sickening. If this is what the FFA wanted then they've certainly achieved it. I can see the fracture that this silent protest has caused between fans and I can also see both sides to the argument but I think I'll reserve final judgement till after the official statement is released by the RBB. In saying that I do hope the statement clears all this speculation up and isn't just some b/s fed to fans. Here's to hoping! Well the sooner the RBB sort out there statement the better, because they have caused a lot of angst among all the supporters. There are not many supporters who are happy about the actions that have been taken today. We took away one of the major advantages we have when we play at home. As you can see from the responses from the forum most of the posters are against what happened today. This was was a major backfire. Oh well hopefully the RBB leaders can learn from this mistake. ilshonin Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 As I posted a while back...tonight brought new opportunities. Well done to you CPC boys- who were clearly visible and audible from where I sit opposite you!! You were fantastic in doing what we usually have from the RBB- support the team with passion. What tonight shows, is that if the current leadership are not going to be there FOR THE TEAM at EVERY SINGLE GAME , others within our amazing ranks can and would step up..Sure It might never be as good and it might take a while, but we would not revert to sitting quietly on the sidelines in my opinion. Judging by tonight and every other night, you would revert very quickly.

Malone Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Serious question: Out of curiousity are the higher ups and the people involved in making the decisions for the RBB just essentially North Gate? Edited March 2, 2014 by Malone Neverbloom, NeverMind and Braids 3
BoxtoBox Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Sad day for football in the west. I understand the protest, but I also think we could have been bigger about it. The teams performance was a direct outcome of the atmosphere, and that is more important then the RBB I'm afraid.
Prydzopolis Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The RBB are not a group of paid entertainers placed in the Northen terrace to entertain you. However you have no right to "demand" anything of them. What I expect the RBB is to support the team in the usual manner and fashion that they have done in the past. Unfortunately sitting as they did today was only 1-2% of what they contribute normally to our wanderland. As said previously a full match silent protest should be a last resort or even a partial protest I could understand. I am not even against there right to protest or the fact they are trying to right the wrongs that are being committed against them, I am all for supporting them! As I said previously, today we were flat and we needed the RBB to help pump up the boys because we could have had a 4 point gap to roar and 6 points to 3rd. Getting behind the team first and foremost should be the main priority and secondary should be your need to right the wrongs against you! That was probably the most disappointing factor and why I was against the protest today. Why not do it in a acl match? If we come last in our group it doesn't affect anything as we would have probably lost the match anyway. Doing it in the a-league when the premiers plate was in reach and so much riding on the result was the problem.
magicwand Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 A very sad day for the club both on and off the field. For all intents and purposes we just lost the premiership we were so proud of last year. It really shows how much we've lost our focus when the thread relating to what happened on the football field has five replies whereas this thread relating to the RBB protest has five pages of replies. Wanderer74 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 No need to dwell on this guys. I was pissed at the start but once you get past the loss I don't really care. What I do care about is not having a divide between us. We are one representing the west, and this is what we should be representing this week against the smurfs WSW27 and meryn 2
Johnny Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I don't know the lyrics to every chant, but I do remember this one sounds like you rely on us for atmosphere.... every member should know every chant AND sing for 90! Think I ****ed up that quote haha : /
1988banana Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Relentless Boastful Bullshit How quick can ppl turn.... this clown just showed us , nice work!!!!!
Prydzopolis Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 IF YOUR NOT ONE OF US YOU'LL NEVER UNDERSTAND So you are not anyone in the leadership of the RBB but assume you are apart of one of the 3 banned groups. Banana, help us understand, many of us are east west and south members who are reasonable people. Saying you'll never, doesn't help us at all however you can explain it to us you know? We will listen, despite the negative responses on here many still have a soft spot for the RBB and want to stand united together. We know how much they bring to games, the experience, the passion the chanting but after such an important game today it just feels like the wsw players and fans were abandoned. WestGrub Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 did all you rbb haters enjoy the match day experience today Umm....Actually, I was too busy watching the football. I didn't really give a flying **** about what the upset little boys who took their ball and went home crying. It was great to see the real passionate fans around the ground fill the void left by the self important and selfish minority in the Northern Terrace. Relentless Boastful Bullshit How quick can ppl turn.... this clown just showed us , nice work!!!!! Yeah its obvious how little you care.

Popular Post Wanderboy Posted March 2, 2014 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2014 Today hasn't made me angry at anybody. As a Wanderers fan, it has just made me sad. I am so proud of what our club has achieved in its short existence. I am proud to see Wanderers fans at shopping centres or in the streets, and exchange a smile with them. I am proud of what the club stands for and represents in our community. I am proud of our active support and the way the non actives have embraced them, and joined with them at away games to become active as one. I am proud that we are all brothers and sisters. A few months ago, I was driving along Pennant Hills Rd at Carlingford, and saw a beaten up old truck adorned with Wanderers paraphernalia and paint work. I chased him for several kilometres. He thought I was going to road rage him such was my intent to catch and pass him. When I finally pulled up beside him at a set of lights, he wound his window down and was ready to give me an almighty spray but I got in first and yelled at him "Who do we sing for". The smile on his face was priceless. He replied with "We sing for Wanderers". It was a joyous moment for both of us!!! This is the Wanderers I love. What has made me sad today is the infighting I have read tonight. The abuse, the lack of respect between fans. The blame game. We Unite As One has been thrown out the window. I hope that this is resolved quickly. I hope that we all truly again unite as one sooner rather than later. We are all passionate about the Wanderers, but we have to be passionate together, not apart. I've walked away from matches before after a loss and been proud of our club. The Wanderers. This evening, when I left, I felt flat. Tonight I am now sad. Let's not go the way that other clubs have previously. I want to walk through shopping centres and smile at people. hawks2767 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I really hope this statement is something much more than 'that's what you get'.
wendybr Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 To those members in East/West stands getting their hate on for the silence, realise this; The RBB are not a group of paid entertainers placed in the Northen terrace to entertain you. It is fantastic that you enjoy their songs/tifos/flags/banners etc on match days. However you have no right to "demand" anything of them. When you say "sing" don't expect the answer to be "how loud?" did all you rbb haters enjoy the match day experience todayAwesome day without dick heads... Hahahahahaha cant wait to meet you one day ;-) Ahhh Banana vs Stavup.. .Round 10. Some things never change!!!!
westofcentre Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The RBB isnt a mothers club. They have shown they they are willing to accomodate fans and work with various parties and listen. Im sure they would just like to do their thing without having to run a PR campaign everytime they look sideways. I dont agree with every thing (I have question marks over the protest) but I think they get it right most the time and I could not do what the core do that well. Its the RBB not a knitting club. We are one family but people hold them to a high standard. And all 16,000 members have different standards. So ur gonna piss someone off. We all have responsibilities but people think the RBB owes them more then they do. ilshonin, CACIQUE, Lookers and 1 other 4
