ManfredSchaefer Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 So, someone said there was one on the official website, in two parts.... is it this one, or the fox one, or another one? That was me. It's not the fox version. Last night they said that it included the part 1 which was available on line & that last night's version included behind the scenes sections not previously seen. From [dim] memory of watching part 1 & part 2 on line, last night's second half definitely included scenes not shown in the on line part 2. I WANT A COPY!!!! The original parts 1 and 2 go for a combined time of 30mins. So that must mean there is an extra 30 mins of content with the new stuff Without having seen the online material I would think all that footage of the team and staff in places like Hiroshima, Guangzhou and especially Riyadh (such as Popa on the pitch before the final, the boys celebrating in the sheds) were the extra scenes only available in what we saw last night. Must say I understand the bitterness and vile fookwittedness of the Al Hilal twats more so after seeing that extra stuff in the doco last night. The sense of entitlement and of overwhelmingly huge numbers of Saudi men with all that repressed emotion, all seething under the delusion that all they had to do was turn up literally flooded the screen every time you saw them in the footage. All those young men with no other outlet for their egos and their need for visceral pleasure were 110% wrapped up in their bunch of under achieving, over paid fails. Take that away from them through a salary capped Aussie football club that was barely 2 years old...no wonder the meltdown lol.

I liked that the doco showed just how many sitters that Al Hilal missed in Riyadh. All the highlights everyone saw in media outlets were of the disallowed penalties. As was shown last night, that was all a smokescreen hiding just how useless they were on front of goal. Eat **** you spoilt brats. All the money in the world couldn't buy the ticker you required to get it done when it really mattered.

Must say another thing that was brilliant in the doco...how it showed angles on that amazing St Covic of the Miraculous Elbow parried save in Riyadh that aren't seen most of the time. When you see from above or from the front how far across he was to the left post and yet curled the ball back behind the right post...bugger me dead it was truly miraculous. And agree 110% with what you said above which I've highlighted... I wonder if we can somehow get access to a digital copy and send a few hundred disks iver to Riyadh as good will gestures...
Hughesy Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I wasn't able to attend last night so I plan on asking how I can have access to the documentary when I pick my jersey up.

Just the strength in his wrist to parry it away still baffles me. In real motion the ball is absolutely flying, plus he had make an unbalanced dive get to get to it makes it even more miraculous. With his hand a wrist strength id be terrified to shake his hand. My highlight for me by far though was Poljak's "I'm no angry anymore" line when talking about Nishimura. I haven't laughed like that for ages Edited May 26, 2015 by Alexander

102megan Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Was not impressed with the Wanderers response at the Forum last night, in regards to ACL merchandise. Some bullsh!t about licensees and the club not getting the money, etc. etc. So from that, I'm taking it that every other club that has won the ACL, has either: 1) Not had any merchandise available, or 2) Been rolling in cash. I find it really incredibly hard to believe that the club had no way at all to bring out ACL Champions merchandise. That there was no loop hole, no matter how tiny. And nothing at all in regards to how even clubs like Brisbane Roar, and Central Coast Mariners, could manage to bring out ACL kits, (and prior to their ACL matches!!), while our (apparently inferior club, even though the club wants to be one of the biggest in Australia and the world) was unable to do so.
Prydzopolis Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I thought the merchandise issue was different to the ACL jersey: With the ACL merchandise, it was because the money to be made would be shared with other Aleague clubs but who cares right? That stops the club selling merch to one of the biggest moments of our club's history? Hasn't stopped us in the past, why stop us now? With the ACL jerseys his reason was the order time for the jerseys, minimum order sizes & delivery for the jerseys made overseas. Do you buy it? So why didn't they just order 3x or 4x the 4,000? I just couldn't understand why they couldn't give a straight answer instead of fluffing around, it sounded like an excuse. Another time which they had no influence around stakeholders involved with the club.

Hughesy Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I picked mine up today, can confirm that it's the exact same as what the players wore. I couldn't make it last night so I'm only going off what I'm hearing and reading. Whether it took them 2 minutes or 2 hours to spit out an answer about merchandise, if they were restricted with licensing then they were restricted with licensing. I'm not quite sure why people are angry at them about that? As for the actual ACL jerseys, they wouldn't have sold them in the thousands so I think it's unrealistic to expect them to have bought that many. Particularly as they were released 3/4 of the way through the season when most people had probably already bought their merch for this season and didn't want to/couldn't spend anymore money. Again, if they're restricted by Nike's co operation well then I don't see what more they can do about it?

Whether it took them 2 minutes or 2 hours to spit out an answer about merchandise, if they were restricted with licensing then they were restricted with licensing. I'm not quite sure why people are angry at them about that? No, they weren't willing to sell the merchandise because the profits wouldn't go to the club. You're correct licensing restricted them to using an FFA approved company but is that a good enough excuse for not releasing it all?As for the actual ACL jerseys, they wouldn't have sold them in the thousands so I think it's unrealistic to expect them to have bought that many. Again, if they're restricted by Nike's co operation well then I don't see what more they can do about it?Seriously, put it out to the 18,000 members this season & over a 10 day period take orders. Then once you've got the x thousand orders, order the shirts, how hard is that? They didn't have order 20k if only 10k put in orders. They never said they were restricted by Nike's co operation, they just refused to deal with them. They didn't release any ACL merch, people were waiting all year for them to release something!

As others have said, I think that the response to this issue was one of JT's weaker answers. He said that Licensing was the issue. Overseas suppliers were the issue. And then said that the small quantity was the issue. It sounded all like a fob off. The licencing is through Nike, who we use for all or other merch. The low quantity was set by the club (who should have set it higher). So that just leaves the overseas supplier as an excuse. Maybe the Club opted for the cheapest supplier they could find. And we the members got burnt. Who knows? The answers we got to those questions weren't the best of the night. Edited May 29, 2015 by BrightSpark

I don't know what those ones that those two are wearing but they aren't the ones they played in against Seoul anyway.

DCWSW Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 The players definitely played in jerseys that had the Pepper logo heat pressed.... all you need to do is just look at images of the games...
MadKaw Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) While we're having a whinge, I nabbed a couple of those ACL champions T-shirts the other day... Looks ok, but has to be the thinnest, crappiest t-shirt material I have seen, I reckon it has an SPF rating of zilch. At least I won't get a t-shirt tan wearing it.. :-) Its no wonder the t-shirt gun at the games coudn't shoot them, it would have blown straight thru it.. Being a Nike T, I expected better... Having said that, it does look ok on the misses.... (•_ㅅ_•) Edited May 29, 2015 by MadKaw

Edinburgh Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Why is the club saying overseas suppliers was part of the problem - mine has a made in Australia label!!
pseudonym Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Why is the club saying overseas suppliers was part of the problem - mine has a made in Australia label!! Lol mine also has made in Australia. When I was talking to the customer service person, she said that the main problem with supply of the jerseys was obtaining the champions badges from the AFC.
Tranquilo Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 lol, ahh the club got caught out, if u got embroided and as u can all see the tags say hyundai a league, all it is simply is an aleague jersey with a afc badge which u can pick up from any asian supplier or even on ebay, eg last seasons afc badges. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/221446826534?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=107&chn=ps You dont buy ucl jerseys and then find out the badge tags say fa premier league on them, cause its not a premier league jersey its a uefa champs league jersey. Same goes with the ACL jersey. Its got nothing to do with the hyundai a league so their badge or anything affiliated with the hyundai a league/tags etc shouldn't be on the acl jersey as its a entire different comp. The club would have had difficulty ordering more than the 400 afc champs club badges as the clash of having them sewn on a Hyundai A League shirt/ product would have not gone down well with the AFC and their own sponsors. Truth looks like the club just got some a league home made in australia nike jerseys and then got the badges sewed on, this crap about having nike order them and having them made overseas seems odd. Check your barcode tags on the swing tags see if they are the same as to previous home jersey we were using. Nike would never waste their time making a small order of 400 jerseys exclusive for a team and then being sold at a bargain for $170 as an authentic player issued one.

Tranquilo Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 give it a few months and the acl gold badges/patches from 2014 will be more easily available so we can sew them on our selves
Edinburgh Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 give it a few months and the acl gold badges/patches from 2014 will be more easily available so we can sew them on our selves That sounds painful - Why not sew them onto jerseys!
