So I'm to blame when someone votes for the wrong option?

Mack I know you, and I know you're not that stupid....

I'm open to a Home (Parra) - Neutral (ANZ) - Away (Allianz) for Derby games only.

I could agree with this if it was proposed, it also means that no Sydney team has an advantage of playing more games at home (although all Sydney games seem to feel like home games with our level of support). Both sydney teams could share the gate money for the game at ANZ keeping both happy.

But there should be at least one Derby a year at Parra so no to moving it this year. And all other games (besides GF) at Parra.

I can see where both sides are coming from, mack is going for the literal perspective - and the opposers are going for the "Well that's not what the question implies" perspective.

Both are completely valid, and will be solved with a third poll that directly goes to what we're trying to discuss.

Personally, I don't feel there's a good option for a swing voter like me who's like "Hmm, maybe I'd like to try it once but on a guarantee it will never ever turn into 'Let's take all home games there'" or something.

The poll above is very black or white, there's no gray area - and unfortunately, I think quite a few of us are in said gray area. Although the poll doesn't say so.

Tweeted out some of the boys asking them their opinion on moving derby matches to ANZ.

Love that they made their opinion clear and It seems pretty evident the players don't want to play there either, and are in agreement with the majority of fans. Although i'm open to playing one game a year at ANZ (one game thats it) by keeping it at Parramatta we are creating something special and as Tyson is bang on when he says it shouldn't be about the money.

I love how the players have brought into the philosophy and the ideals of the club, a team with a lot of foreign influence that has brought into the Westerns Sydney culture and its remarkable to see. It was highly evident to me last week that what separates our players from ESFC is that they understand what the derby means to everyone involved at the club, and the desire to win was leaps & bounds ahead of the the ESFC players.

Explain how the question "do you want to play all home games at parramatta" is biased. If you can't get support for any games at anz there is no point trying to poll the 10% who want anz games to see if they want 1, 2 or 3 derbies or all big matches or all matches.

Your poll is bias in nature & you know it! Your first question is misleading, they could potentially move a community rd derby to anz, and keep 13 home games @ Parra (all sold out anyhow). A question along the lines of the following would be more appropriate and completely free of bias.

How would you like to see the Sydney Derby Stadia allocation for the 2014/15 & 2015/16 Seasons?

1 – Per Current arrangement. 2014/15 (2 Parra, 1 SFS) & 2015/16 (2SFS, 1 Parra)

OR

2 – 1 Parra, 1 SFS and 1 ANZ for both seasons.

MY VOTE: 2!!

I look at it as simply as this.

ANZ should only be considered after the 2nd Parra upgrade and if we are selling out the 32K each week.

Once that happens I could live with one game at ANZ per season.

With the current situation, I doubt we will sell more than 50-55K for this game.

To make ANZ a decent atmosphere, I think we would need minimum 65K and we aren't there yet.

after 2nd parra upgrade -they could have a 3rd parra upgrade :P

Fair call but won't happen in our life time lol

If they need a 3rd parra upgrade, would rather a new stadium especially for Wanderers :)

The only time we should be at ANZ is if we're lost.  Or it's a grand final with ESFC which would justify it.

If you want to go watch at ANZ, go watch a NRL game.  You'll soon change your mind.

We need purpose built rectangular stadiums.  I'll diverge slightly from Mack in that we don't have enough games to make it exclusively football as it would not get enough use in a year given the long off-season.  I don't think there is a stadium for the major codes that is exclusive to one thing.  I can live with a co-share with NRL team as we play on mostly the same shape other than the slightly elongated pitch length.

Showing them is building stadia that fits our need as it recognizes the growth of the Football.

I remember I watched a WC Qualifier against China at ANZ.

I sat on Level 6.

Just watched the big screen for the whole game because the players were basically dots on the field.

So much paranoia in this thread and a mentality of everyone is out to get us. I 100% agree with what FairPlay said.

I agree with FairPlay also.   One Derby game a year at A/NZ is good for Football if the crowd is 40K+.    Make the game at A/NZ a neutral game and allow members of both WSW and SFC attend as part of their regular season memberships.

Parra stadium is a great venue for watching football and I love attending games there but it is not the only venue available for football in Western Sydney.    The decision should be based on what is best for Football in our region.  I think this thread was designed from the start to come up with a specific result with the push poll questions and audience.    Why create a poll when the end result would be a obvious?

while I never want any of our home games (except a GF, or a semi against ESFC or something) moved to ANZ, I don't think the stadium is really as bad as people are making it out to be.

A full ANZ stadium really has an atmosphere that can never be rivalled anywhere else in Australia (except I guess a full MCG, but the MCG sucks for football lol). If we only get 40k to a derby at ANZ, they'd usually close off the top tiers so the atmosphere would still be pretty good, they do that for NRL games.

Personally i can't stand ANZ for football ive been in the 'active' (i use that term very loosely) end for the Socceroos (hopefully the new boys in there can fix that up) and it was dire i don't know whether that it has never been fully packed when i was there but my main gripe is the distance between the seats and the pitch is huge. In fact i reckon we could make it a double header and play the Sydney derby on the pitch and play another game in between the distance of the fans and the goalpost.

Sigh

This poll is useless as well  :nono:

I vote for this option.

1 home derby at Parra.

1 away derby at Allianz.

1 neutral derby (the opening game of the season) at ANZ as the community round game with money being split between WSW, SFC, FFA and the money going to grass roots development of clubs in Sydney and Western Sydney.

Both teams still have 13 home games, 13 away games + the neutral derby.

WSW don't lose a home game at Parramatta.

ESFC don't lose a home game at Allianz.

And potentially an extra 100,000 people get to witness the Sydney derby every 2nd season

(based on current ground capacities....i know WSW may expand to 24k soon).

Season 1 - Parra / Allianz / Parra - 80k

Season 2 - Allianz / Parra / Allianz - 100k

= 180k

OR

Season 1 - ANZ / Allianz / Parra - 140k

Season 2 - ANZ / Allianz / Parra - 140k

= 280k

(based on 80k at ANZ, 20k at parra, 40k at sfs).

I don't think we'd get 80k to open the season at ANZ next year, but in 2-3 years i honestly believe we would.

Let me make something clear. I do not want to sacrifice home games that should be at Parramatta. If the club decided to sell out and move to ANZ permanently, i would hand back all 4 memberships that i have.

But to grow the game in this country, in this city, and to really put football on the map, we have to seriously consider 1 neutral (note - not home) derby a season at ANZ.

I agree with Malone. Another reason......is yes, the pitch is at Homebush and the seats in Flemington. Build a moat with sharks feeding on smurfs between the pitch and seats and then I may reconsider spending my 'entertainment dollar' on a Sydney Derby at .....yawn
