Go the croats, big scalp for them to start the tournament.

I expect them to qualify now with NZ & Uzbekistan in their group.

That commentator is ***** useless...no bloody clue

Can't stand John Helm!

How many times did he say that Colombia guy was left-footed! Oh and the 10-yard marker can thingy has been around for ages (still used in the America's a fair bit)... he was going on like it was as revolutionary as the first football boot.

Anyway, was very proud of the boys and the young Da Silva is going to a very dangerous player in years to come. The Hoole kid was annoying me though, something about him didn't sit right with me. So glad I stayed awake for this instead of the Confed Cup.

Looking forward to the game on Wednesday morning though :)

Agree regarding Hoole. Other than his superb ball to de silva, he ran around like a headless chook. Didn't seem to look up when in possession of the ball and missed some golden opportunities. His spatial awareness isn't quite there (yes, I know it seems contradictory after his great ball to de silva however he had 10/15 other opps to do similar)

On a side note....Iraq 2 England 2. :shok:  :good:

I was thinking the same about Hoole...he was the least impressive of the young uns.

And respect to the junior Iraqis. Makes one think even more positively of not just their effort at ANZ last week but also our senior guys efforts...the Iraqis were/are no mugs. And apparently England have not won a game at the U-20 WC for 16 years...

That spray is old, I remember the Brazilian league using it at least 15 years ago.

Good old FIFA....revolutionaries that lot.

El Salvador will be hard to beat, I watched there last game and they have some talent, they were nervous to begin with but play well,,

it will not be as easy as people think,  Okon knows this and will not take them lightly, my prediction is for an upset or a possible draw. AUS haven't won in there last 5 games on the other hand El Salvador have won 3, including victory's over Mexico and Panama.

It will be interesting..

Are you talking about at W/C level? Our last friendly before they flew out was against NZ and they had a 5-0 win. 2 weeks before that a draw against Holland U23's and a 2-1 loss to Germany U23's if I recall. Not bad.

Anyway, gotta go stock the fridge and get some firewood ready for tonight. Fireside beers watching football. Bewdifull.

Agreed, Quintano linked with EPL sides I'm pretty sure.

Since when has Paul Okon been referred to as Paulo Okon? Enter Craig Foster.

Ask his Italian mum!

Not sure about his German dad, but you can always call Bozza to see what he called him at training.  They played together at Marconi along with my best mate (U15,16's) and Klaus Okon snr was the coach.  Klaus Jnr obvious got the German name and Paul(o) perhaps the Italian????

:D God love him haha

I love how Fozzie always refers to European (Barcelona) players by their nicknames as if he is on first name basis with them.

Don't be too cocky.  Four of their best players are unavailable because their clubs are not obliged to let them play.

Anything but cocky mate, just that if you beat the favorites of the group in the opening game it puts you a good position to qualify.

It's good that they even qualified.

Can't wait to see how the boys go round tonight.

After the way they played last time out, I am more excited bout seeing these boys than I have been for the socceroos in a long time.

The u20s remind me why it's called the beautiful game. Long may it continue.

He's been linked with every bloody club but apparently going Italian like his mate, the fullback whose name I can't spell. Starts with a P.
