blurbel Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Guys, I know this is still pretty far away but as I'm not able to make it to Melb for the big away game, this is the next away I can actually get to. Just curious, Gosford isn't too far out of Sydney...any plans for another bus-trip? How are you planning to get there?
smarty Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I vote another RBB train like the Sydney derby, from Strathfield
Jarosz213 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) I will either be driving up or catching the train, i think Gosford train station is only like 300m from the stadium Edited January 29, 2013 by Jarosz213
blurbel Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 I vote another RBB train like the Sydney derby, from Strathfield Caught the train to watch Mariners vs Roar last season's finals, got stranded in Strathfield due to buses not running late on weekends. Twas crap! But if everyone else is gonna be doing the same thing, I'd be happy to come along. Strathfield isn't far from where I am currently
JamCal Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I've been waiting for this thread forever. I think if we're going to Melbourne then we've definitely gotta show up big in Central Coast and Newcastle, already got 3 or 4 mates who say they'll come.
Burztur Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I would imagine a lot of the casuals will be driving up too
ATP Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 This will be a big away trip.... Its a 1hr drive from sydney ffs! Id expect to see at least 300 RBB there if not more
JamCal Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 There are trains from both newcastle and central coast which get back to SydCentral early enough to get on the last trains on the way home, just before people start to wonder if they can get public transport back from those games.
Pup55 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Bluetongue is a fantastic ground to watch football at as well. just a heads up. the stadium security is an absolute b*tch. i can see ATP being ejected pre kickoff like that f*ckwit secca in Brisbane was trying to do ps - i'll be there for sure
charonis Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 If anyone DOESN'T come to either this game or Newcastle in Rd 26 - regardless of whether they're in the RBB or not - they should be ashamed of themselves.
Pup55 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I'm driving, cbf taking a train that can only spell good news for me
charonis Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Yeah we'll be driving too. Nice little road trip. The Round 27 game (last round) in Newcastle is on a Friday at 5:30. Poor planning by the FFA. Thought that too, but that's Good Friday
HungHuynh Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The Round 27 game (last round) in Newcastle is on a Friday at 5:30. Poor planning by the FFA. It's not poor at all. It's public holiday that Friday. Most like driving for me.
Hulkstrong Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Myself, the mrs and a few mates are driving up. And yes, to confirmm, 29 March 2013 which is when the away Jets game falls on its a public holiday (Good Friday) This is another trip that my same group will be making.
Pup55 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 easter weekend in Newcastle with the family. perfect
Burztur Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Haha. I didnt realise Ok - I'm happy now! Win Win!
julyaugustreno Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I will be heading up there somehow. Was thinking of getting the train, but might just hitch a ride with the spec-meister if he lets me haha. He has a nice car too
ATP Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Il be Driving up with wswgeorge & zurg no doubt, & the Kop if hes still sober enough to walk lol So no standing on the seats at bluetongue pup? ;-) Suncorp stadium security were really funny "2nd warning sir, no standing on the seats"... "have you been here before"? And topping it off with the obligatory "are you from sydney"? followed by the confusion on their face when i said no.... You could tell they were hanging out to say between themselves "only a prick from sydney would stand on seats" :-)
Chaopescado Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Will probably make a weekend of this, go up the Friday and drive back Sunday. We should have as many travelling to this game as the East Sydney game, plus Gosford is nicer than East Sydney.
Erebus Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 haha I bought tickets to the CCM and Newcastle games months ago. My PAX is probably in the single digits (just for you ATP ) Agreed that if we have a poor turnout from RBB and regular WSW fans, I'll be disappoint. The Squadron are good. We need to battle them at their home. CCM, we need to show them how to do things properly and completely invade that place.
dongle Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 1000 travelling up shouldn't be a problem. its a 1 hour drive FFS. Haha its only an extra 10 minutes for me compared to parra

'no im from russia' Looks like there's plenty of people I could scab a lift from
Andy70 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Making a weekend of this one with at least 4 mates - hopefully more
Redhead Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The Round 27 game (last round) in Newcastle is on a Friday at 5:30. Poor planning by the FFA. But isn't it Good Friday. No-one will be at work - well, except for those in the hospitality, and "hospital" industries. EDIT - okay, I've seen that others noticed this. I'm just a bit slow - lol!
Jowel Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Make sure to check if trackwork is on that weekend. The Sh1tty rail website is usually updated about this in the 2 weeks leading up
Redhead Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I'm driving up to this game and staying over - driving back the next day. NOTE - for those who want to make a weekend of it, I had a bit of trouble finding accommodation in Gosford. Only Ibis was not booked out - that was a couple of days ago. I bought our tickets last year - Pax 802 and 803. Nothing for Victory to get excited about.
